I was curious to see how others closed their stories and what some of the funniest, most touching or favorite lines where.

My main character is a guy who is un anchored in realities and keeps unpredictably shifting through them. He calls it side stepping. (note this isn't my story that is visible as my excerpt that is the one I set aside on thanksgiving to start this one)

as for the lines I still chuckle about when I remember them.

My opponent was trying a classic distraction tactic of looking behind me with wide eyes and about to yell something when I was tackled from behind and tumbled to the ground. When I got back up I was relieved to see. No that’s exactly what I meant to say I had two darts and I had been ready to throw one. I was just happy to have both eyes.

AND

I looked over at Romany who had apparently been the tackler to my tacklee. And against all odds had apparently hitched a ride. And she was dressed like a commando in muted colors if still with a distinctive gypsy flare. She had a small pack that was nearly invisible on her back and a knife in her hand.

“Dear Gods, Romany tell me you didn’t tackle me with that thing in your hand. It’s bad enough that you did it while I was aiming darts.”

I finished my story with:

We were off on another trip to the side.

well I actually have two endings but the one that I will be keeping is this:

"Ah, said Elise wiping her mouth for the last time and setting her napkin across her bowl. I change stories but I don’t pick the stories, the stories pick you. "

My story is about a spiraling fairy tale like story that makes self references and that ever continues (kind of like that " This is the song that never ends" song.

It could very well go onto another story if I have the fortitude. But really its just a stopping for now.
