Wouldn't you know it--only one region for all of NM ;-) There's very little in the way of arts where I live (especially in the eyes of one who grew up in central FL), and I'm just wondering if there are any other writers in my general area who are mentally disturbed enough to consider a 30-day novel. I just found out about NaNoWriMo very recently.

I'm here in Farmington. I didn't get all my words written in time to win in November. I had to go on vacation in the middle of November. I thought that during vacation I would have lots of time to write. Wrong. My family thought I should have lots of time to spend with them during vacation. I saw the wisdom and stopped writing during that time. I should have 50,000 words done on December 11th. I've learned that this is a great way to write as I HAVE to get done 1667 words each and every day.
I learned about NaNoWriMo just a few days before November.

No time like after November. :-) If you want support go over to nanofimo.org and sign on. But you can also check out the other forums. There's still a little going on.
As for other people in your area I think there's one in Farmington, one in Gallup. Check the Hello thread.
Nice to see you both here.

I'm in Aztec, myself. Maybe when November rolls around again, we'll have found another local NaNo or two by then and can start hanging out at Starbucks or something =) The whole "group writing" thing sounds just insane enough to work :-D Maybe I'll even be able to talk my husband into joining the insanity by then.
