I hope nobody minds me posting this here - I was wondering if anyone wanted to meet up to go and see Northern Lights (I'm getting really itchy about the American title now but expect most of you know what I mean) next week? My housemates are either leaving or are heathens and although I will go and see it on my own I don't much want to.
On a related note, a cinema here in Bath is showing a live interview with Philip Pullman at 1640 on Sunday, which I think I'm going to, regardless of heathen housemates who won't come. There's more information about it here: http://www.picturehouses.co.uk/news_item.aspx?venueId=bath&id=714

I wouldn't mind seeing this, if I'm not too late. Haven't read the books, but it looks quite interesting.

I could be up for this too. When/ where were you thinking?

I don't really mind. I've got the office Christmas party tomorrow, and there's the writing group on Thursday, but other than that I should be free whenever.

How about Saturday sometime? Is there a cinema in the middle of Bristol? I personally really like the Vue at Longwell Green, but it's a little bit troublesome to get to without a car.

I used to go to the Vue at Longwell Green, but it is a bit of a trek, and nigh on impossible for the carless. There's a Vue at Cribb's Causeway which is a little easier to get to (the Number 1 bus goes there from the middle of Bristol, and then it's just a short walk across from that glittering retail cathedral across to the entertainment sector (and I can recommend the eat-until-you-burst-for-a-tenner Chinese buffet which is there). Wednesdays are a good day to go too, because those of us with Orange phones can get two tickets for the price of one. Of course, that depends on how many people going have Orange phones, and depending on when it is, I might not be able to go.
Going to see Hitman is more of a priority for me, but I could easily be persuaded to bypass that favour of Northern Lights. ;-)

There's an Odeon in central Bristol at Broadmead. It's a LOT easier to get to than Cribbs Causeway.
I'm around until Sunday morning and would be interested in joining you if possible.

Odeon would be much better for me than Cribbs Causeway. I could do Weds, Fri, or Sun eve....any of those any good? Or if Sat is best for everyone, I might be able to make it if we went early, say midday or something. Cos I'm going away Sat early eve.
Did you go to the Pullman interview? If so, how was it?

Cribbs Causeway would be almost impossible for me, to be honest - it takes over an hour to get there from here even with a car! Broadmead I can find. Saturday morning sounds okay, I can't tell you when it'll be on though because the listings aren't up yet. I didn't go to the interview in the end, I had to read a book for a presentation - flipping coursework!!
I'm going to see Hitman on Wednesday. :p Now that NaNo is over I'm catching up on all the films I would have seen last month as well as the new ones!!

Great - just go and see Hitman on your own, see if I care! ;-) I'll just use my free Orange ticket to take, er, er, do they let you take cats?

On my own? Hehe - one of my housemates has been playing Hitman - incredibly ineptly, I might add - for a few weeks, so we're going as a house... and then the uni sci fi society found out we were going, and now there are about 12 of us going. Speaking of which, I should get going, or I won't get there on time, lol.
Times are up on the web for Saturday - 1200, 1445, 1730, or 2015. Any takers?

If we can do 12.00, count me in. 14.45 would pushing it as I'm meant to be leaving around 4pm, and any later is impossible for me. Is 12.00 too early for people? Personally, I think it's optimal. Well, I would say that, wouldn't I?

12:00 on... Saturday, you say? The legends are true! Such a time doth exist!
That should be fine for me.

12.00 on Saturday would suit me too - although I wouldn't be surprised if Broadmead is VERY busy.

Okay then, 1200 it is!! And yes, I imagine it'll be busy too. *shudders*
Shall we meet around 1145 at the cinema?
