Personality: Kleptomaniac, very serious unless put under pressure, oversensitive
Quirks: She has a strange disliking for the word "cannonfodder", especially when used to describe her.

Name: Lyla Berkins
Age: six
Gender: female
Looks: She has very wispy blonde hair in small, loose curls that frame her face. Her pale skin, that has the look of sour milk, is splashed with light brown freckles. Her eyes are a piercing, knowing silver-gray, penetrating. She is small in stature and stick-thin, usually seen in her faded, washed out denim dress, her hair tied back in braids, but much hair still sticking out. She has one pair of tennis shoes, tearing at the seams, the soles slapping the dirt. Above one eye is a crescent moon-like scar.
Personality: Lyla is very mellow and mild, but has a touch of telepathy in her blood. She is nearly all-knowing for such a young age and refuses to talk a lot. When she does, her words are soft and nearly inaudible. Despite this, however, she is good-hearted and overall friendly when she gets to meet someone. She is often daydreaming and it is believed by some that half of her spirit resides in a nonexistent world, for she is never quite /there/. Lyla often notices things that the normal human eye does not touch.
Quirks: Orphaned at birth, she is generally touchy when parents are mentioned. She gets mad when people ignore what she is saying, for she only speaks when need be. She can be irritable and touchy at times and occasionally throws temper tantrums.
Something they would say to you as you take them home: "Did you ever notice that trees aren't green - but different hues of gold-yellows and evergreen and lime shades? Nothing has one color, not even the sky."
Oh, and she can't take sarcasm at all, or jokes. Very, very serious.
Wait...did I go out-of-the-way with description? Sorry. xP I kind of lost myself to the character I was creating.

Name: Viktor Bjornson
Age; 27
Gender: Male
Looks: Shaggy dark hair that really needs to be cut, pale skin from a lack of sun exposure, a little on the taller side, but quite thin. His clothes are usually covered in acrylic paint.
Personality: Viktor is a paranoid schizophrenic, as well as a shut-in. He orders all of his groceries off of the internet, and spends most of his time painting. He is very intelligent, and easily bored.
Quirks: Viktor's older sister is a communist, so he has a USSR shirt that he wears on the rare occaisons that he goes out in public.
Something they would say to you as you take them home: I'm not sure if he would say anything. He would probably just sulk the whole way home.

Personality: Stephen hates his name because he says he hates horror books and scary things, and people always assume that he does. He is a loveable kid who loves to read (just not horror books). He was orphaned at a young age and his now in a foster home that doesnt pay much attention to him.
Quirks: he doesnt pay attention taht much, since he is always reading. he hates his name, and he is lightening fast at running, although that really isnt a quirk

What happened to the earlier adopt-a-character thread with no form? I was expecting that one, I'm not sure this character will fit into a form.
Name: A. P. Finn
Age: 58
Gender: M
Looks: Old man
Personality (and history because it is very important to this character): A substitute teacher who's been kicked out of many high school for being inappropriate. He talks in circles about HIMSELF for the entire class and doesn't let anybody get work done. His father was a very "linear" man who never read a work of fiction and always told him to think more clearly and stop goofing off. Has a mystery disease that his Endocrinologist can't figure out. He cannot stay on one subject for more than a few minutes. Talks about how detached from reality he is. Cries when he reads his own poetry, which he does in front of everybody.
Quirks: See above
Something they would say to you as you take them home: 'Ah! Thank you for having me! Want to hear about my trip to Saudi Arabia? Ooh, the sound of a train, is there any sound more melancholy?"

Role Character will play: Witness to a mime killing someone. Poor kid has read so many novels and made up so many stories that the only person who believes him is on a fishing boat in the middle of the ocean with her family. He actually runs away from his foster home and shows up on the boat sometime during the middle of the night.

I know I just adopted, but this character needs more than just the story I've got him involved in!
Name: Phillip Balcombe
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Looks: Average height (plus or minus a few inches per your preference), but slightly stocky; medium brown hair with early spots of grey;
Personality: Former Prison guard who discovered he was a medium after an altercation with one of the cell blocks (they rioted after one of the "Prison Lords" was killed by another inmate) and was knocked over the head with a metal bed pan, HARD. After returning to work from a few days paid leave, he resigned at the end of the month because of all the "inmates" who started following him. Now works as a professional psychic and an independent security consultant.
Quirks: shakes and hangs his head before sighing frequently; carries a riding crop when not working
Something they would say to you as you take them home: "I don't want to know how you know that, but since I'll wind up knowing anyhow, we might as well have a beer along the way."

Well, I scrapped a story and I didn't think this little guy should perish because of it.
Name: Lugh Marx
Age; 14
Gender: Male
Looks: Small and a bit skrawney. He had soft, wheat colored hair that lays flat against his head and Alaskan glacier blye eyes. He dresses very formally at all times.
Personality: Lugh is a but on the quiet side and more of a thinker than someone who acts. He is extremely studious and often spends his time locked up in his room reading. He is sickly and avoids physical activity as much as he can.
Quirks: He has no sense of right and wrong and he has a bit of a god-complex.
Something they would say to you as you take them home: "Adoption? Interesting... I will have to study this further..."

Character I'm adopting: Lugh Marx
Role they will play: Someone who all of my other characters will pick up along the way VERY unexpectedly because he thinks that he'll get a lot of money (so that he can buy himself a library) if he goes with them
Hmm... I guess that I'll post my character, then.
Name: Kvetina (or Tina for short)
Age: Anywhere between 12-17
Gender: female
Appearance: Dark red hair, very pale, light blue eys. Always wears her hair in a loose bun with her sidebangs hanging out. She's the kind of person to seem really shallow if you lay eyes on her (she wears brand names printed across her chest all the time) but she really does have more depth then that.
Personallity: Self critical, acts like she doesn't care about anything but she does, very sarcastic, the thing that she values the most is family. Her best friends are her two younger cousins and her younger sister (there's only a year and a half age difference between all of them). Her and her sister get along unusually well for siblings. Is sometimes stereotyped as emo.
Quirks: Doesn't know when to stop being sarcastic... You can come up with the rest.
Something they would say as you take the home: O.o Oh, god, save me.
If you adopt this character: She comes with her sister, who never had a name. But she's about a year and a half younger.

Character I'm Adopting: Kvetina (or Tina for short)
Role They Will Play: The sister for one of my MC's. My MC will come home from college for the holidays and become very close to Kvetina who I will make 13! Kvetina will help my MC during my MC's depression, and my MC will help Kvetina figure out who she really is.
Other: YAY. New character that I didn't have to think of! : ] But I think I'll have to call her "Tina" more than "Kvetina" because my MC's name is Heather, and it would be a TAD BIT odd to have two sisters named Kvetina and Heather. Well, that's my opinion anyway...
*Ahem* My character is now up for adoption! *drumroll* ....TADA!
Name: Rachel McAdams
Age: 32-39. Go ahead, choose.
Gender: Female
Appearance: Untamed bright red curls, flirty green eyes, pearly whites that stop ya in your tracks! She's fond of wearing fire-engine red lipstick that amazingly doesn't clash with her hair. She's tall and thin, wears the latest fashion, and always looks great. Even her crazy mass of red curls works for her. She loves showing off her legs, wouldn't be caught dead without a gorgeous pair of heels, and gives the right amount of shake when she walks.
Personality: Vivacious. Vivacious. Vivacious. Rachel McAdam's loves to talk, flirt, and laugh. She's extremely confident, but not arrogant, although she can be percieved as arrogant. She's terrifically optimistic. Basically, she lives like the world is her oyster. ((Add more if you'd like!))
Quirks: Has a musical laugh almost like a tinkle. Taps her nails CONSTANTLY on surfaces. Plays, ruffles, pulls, etc. her red curls when ever she is thinking hard. Puts a lot of emphasis on at least one word in almost every sentence she says. Rambles frequently.
Something they would say to you as you take them home:
"Well, JUST WAIT untill I tell my friends! They just won't BELIEVE that I've been adopted! Actually, we were talking about adoption JUST the other day. I was telling Shirley---she's one of my closest friends---that I just could not IMAGINE being adopted, and Shirley just said the FUNNIEST thing. I couldn't BELIEVE that she had said it. Has someone ever said anything to you and you just couldn't BELIEVE that they said it? Well, it was like that. And do you know what she said? I bet you just COULDN'T guess..."
And so on. Yes, she is a hand full.
If you adopt this character: OH NO! *gasp* Rachel McAdam's debonair husband was just caught having an affair with a younger woman! *tisk, tisk* Work that in to the plot.

Bear in mind that this isn't a very well developed character. Use with caution. She had about a 60 on the Mary Sue litmus test.
Name: Halie Carsa (feel free to mess around with the spelling of the first name. I crafted this name so that it was an anogram to my own name so I could use it as my own screen name, but I never did use it and I needed a name for a character.)
Age: Teenager in middle school or high school.
Gender: Female.
Looks: Dark brown hair, skin that's darker then most peoples', brown eyes. Somewhat short and 'undeveloped' for her age. Doesn't exactly care what she wears, but she still tries to wear things that don't make her look "poor."
Personality: Shy and reserved. Goes with the crowd. Low self esteem. Sucks at everything she tries. Like I said, she's not very well developed, so you add whatever you want.
Quirks: Has a disproportional fear for older men. Always has to be moving her fingers.
Something they would say to you as you take them home: Nothing. She is too shy.
If you want to adopt this character: Um... The story that I put her in requires a tragic past, but it was a little extreme. So I'll suggest no tragic past.

Name: Leah Jenkins
Age: 8
Gender: Female
Looks: Straight, honey-brown hair with pale gray eyes and a crooked smile. She is small for her age, but despite all appearances, is actually quite strong.
Personality: Leah is a very serious little girl. Extremely precocious, she has trouble connecting to her peers; instead of playing hopscotch and four-square, she'd prefer to be reading up on the latest developments in biology and physics. However, she has little-to-no imagination, and rarely reads fiction. Extremely matter-of-fact, she takes everything at face value. She spends a lot of time thinking, and has been known to sit quietly in a room for hours on end, just talking to herself. Leah is very shy, and insecure about her quiet brilliance. She doesn't want to be singled out, so avoids sharing her knowledge and abilities. She dislikes change, and avoids new situations at all costs. Leah is extremely perceptive, and sometimes knows more than what's for her own good.
Quirks: Uses extremely good grammar, particularly for someone her age. Is also very polite, with a surprisingly firm handshake. As previously mentioned, she tends to talk to herself when alone.
She would probably politely greet you when you came to take her home, and then sit in the back seat of the car, staring out the window, lost in her own little world for the duration of the car ride.
If you want to adopt this character: Go for it! She's a very sweet little girl.

Eee, thank you!
Also, this guy would like a home because I kicked him out of my novel.
His name is Doctor Khan. He's in his late fifties or early sixties. He looks like a kindly old grandfather -- or possibly your crazy uncle. He's nice, kind of crazy in a mild, grandfatherly way -- and in his spare time, he's developing a method of resurrecting the dead. And his first name is actually Doctor -- technically, he's Dr. Doctor Khan. His first words to you? "So how've you been?"
He can or cannot be accompanied by another one-off character named Herbert West, whose characteristics are for you to determine. Herbert West is suspected of resurrecting the dead people, but actually engages in some much more innocuous activity.

Personality: He's arrogant with a large ego and a bit of a snob but can be really kind and down-to-earth once you get to know him. He is not the greatest student in the world but manages good grades.

Looks: Pretty in a tom-boy kind of way with light brown hair and a nice smile. Generally doesn't wear much makeup. She's also kind of tall (5'7" I believe).
Personality: Very fun and easy to please. She had some minor daddy issues where she did anything to please him. Which is why she is now a mechanic. Even though she's more the comedian type, she's got a lot of guts and won't take a lot of crap or allow someone to insult someone she loves.
Quirks: When nervous or upset, she tries to make it all into a joke. She has intimacy issues.
Something they would say to you as you take them home: "So, stranger, who the hell are you? Since you know me so well, wanna tell me something about yourself?"

Name: Jennifer Pearson (often Jenny or Jen)
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Looks: She has long brown hair and blue/green/gray eyes. She's really quite pretty, but she's self conscious of thinking that she is. She's skinny, with skinny little ankles and small feet. Around 5'3" or so.
Personality: She dated this boy for only 3 months, but they were extremely serious and they fell completely in love, but he shattered her heart when he broke up with her because she doesn't believe in God. They were off and on for a while, but he eventually called it off. She used to be extremely stubborn and funny and kind, but now she's sometimes rather quite (but if you get her out of her shell, she's hysterical). She doesn't trust people because she's made too many mistakes. She's a musician; her style being the oboe.
Quirks: Her socks never match (it's an OCD thing.) She's obsessed with music, and constantly listens to it. She pulls at her eyelashes when people aren't watching and when she's bored. She has a box under her bed filled with momentos from her ex.
Something they would say to you as you take them home:
If you want to adopt this character: Please be nice to her. Stupid boys ruin people! [And if you do adopt her... let me read your story?]
