For a very romantic scene in my novel, my male MC proposes to my female MC. Can anyone tell me how to say "I love you." and "Will you marry me?" in Gaelic. Please. :)

Hi, I've been trying to find this out for you.

I can't seem to find a good answer. Apparently there is no outright way to say 'I love you' but I know there is a way to ask 'Will you marry me?'

Unfortunately the only resource I have on that is the old movie Whisky Galore and it is spoken. I am clueless on how it would be written.

The local Gaelic speakers make enough fun of me as is, I'm afraid of asking one of them.

A Canadian guy answered this on the Plot Realism forum and he said I love you is tha gaol agam ort, though I don't know how correct that is. But he didn't know about will you marry me.

Thanks for putting thought into it anyway.
