It's awesome; I've done it twice so far. Luckily, the word limits are more like 500 than 50,000, but you only have a day to write the story. =) Thought some people here might be interested, enjoy!

I really like this idea. The contest is limited to 500 writers and it begins on April 26th at noon. Each writer receives an email with a topic paragraph that must be incorporated in the story. They also receive the required word count. Then you write and email your story back to them within the 24 hour period. The cost is $5 to participate but there are 85 prizes with the top three offering cash and their stories posted on the site. I read the winning story last year and was quite impressed. Anyone else thinking of participating? I might. I just have to see how the week shapes up.
Or...maybe we could do our own. How many of you would be interested in a 24 hour writing contest? Of course, there would be no charge to participate...that also means no cash prizes :( ... but the winning entries would be posted on our blog and the rest of us would bow down to you and beg you for your autograph. (Shenandoah Valley NaNoWrimos Blog coming soon!) What do you think? Let me know if you are interested by email, NaNoMail or replying to this post. If you have any ideas or suggestions let me know. I will get back to you to let you know if enough interest is generated.
