Nuns are everywhere!
Check out these nuns from an ad for Equinox gyms. Warning: partial male nudity, maybe NSFW.
That's right. Nuns and partial male nudity. And if this ad is pissing off Catholics, I wonder how they'd feel about nunowrimo. A statement from Catholic League president Bill Donahue about how depraved we all are may be imminent.
Any other nun pics or stories about nuns in the news. Post 'em here.

I'm too late to post this info now, but... I was poking around Channel 13's website (there are lots of interesting stuff on Black History Month - Henry Louis Gates' program on genealogy's looking awesome - enjoy if you need some inspiring Black History items), and they've scheduled in the late, late night schedule these two items:
2/7/08 at 2am-3:45am - "Black Narcissus" (and re-airing on 2/24/08, at 1:30am - http://www.thirteen.org/watch/program_info.php?program_id=23242&episode_... - summary: "Deborah Kerr stars in this film about nuns trying to establish a mission in a remote Himalayan outpost." imdb.com has far more interesting plot summaries for this 1947 movie - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0039192/plotsummary - which includes something about how the nuns try to do good for the community in the Himalayas but also must deal with temptations of the flesh... hmm... Dare I set up a VCR timer to tape it? (I don't have tivo, sadly).
and 2/7/08 at 3:45am - an Independent Lens' documentary presentation of "Sisters: Portrait of a Benedictine Community" - summary: "This documentary follows the lives of the women of St. Scholastica Monastery in Duluth, Minnesota. The story is told by the Sisters themselves -- at work, prayer and leisure -- as they pursue a balanced life based on the Rule of St. Benedict and face an uncertain future with spirit, conviction and wit." The website - http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/sisters/benedictine.html - has some very interesting information on the lives of the nuns - could come in handy as a research reference, actually.
