Local Writers' Group - On-line?

The problem with writer review groups is finding a time and place to meet, not to mention battling distance and weather this time of year. Do you think an on-line approach workable.? The author sends out selections of their work to other members for comments/suggestions. Perhaps once every couple months they get together to socialize and discuss face to face.

Are You Close to Oakhurst?

There are four or five of us in the Oakhurst area and would love to have a get together with other NaNoers. A Friday afternoon or evening would probably work best for most of us. I attempted NaNoWriMo a couple of years ago. I got 3000+ words in, somehow lost all my text, and, well, that was it. This year I'm more determined. I'm shuffling through some ideas, will start plotting, and getting some characters together. Hopefully I'll have some sort of time line that I can use to keep me going forward.

Slow Starts

Ok, so I've only posted 126 words and it's already day 5. HOLY CRAP! Well, I came down with a horrible case of indecisivness. I had an idea, but it was really only a character, and I hit a brick wall. So I decided to try to convert a screenplay I've been working on into my novel. That's the 126 words I have posted. I'm NOT feeling it and I can't get motivated. This morning I ran my original idea through my head about 20 times and I feel I have a good jumping off point. I'm going to get on it tonight when I get home from work. Fingers crossed.

I was wondering if anyone else hit a stumbling block out of the gate, and if so, did you or how did you get past it? Guess I could use a little incouragement.

Anyone else having a ruff time getting around the nano site , I know it was frusting for me looking around posts and updating my word count in the auto counter.Its the usuall ofcouse But I still dont understand why it does that its just a website A very popular one , but none the less a website , and i know i got high speed internet so what the big deal . If you know anything , or just want to complain about the frusteration with me about it feel free to post your thaughts on this.
