What is Irony? I looked on Wikipedia but it was very complicated. Could someone please give me a simple answer on what irony is and how I could use it in my new novel?

Thank you and many thanks,

Thimsric

Irony is the use of a figure of speech or literary device in which the literary meaning is the opposite of the one intended.
Like say someone in the street just walks up to you and punches you and walks away. Your best friend says"I think he really likes you a lot" Next time try a THesaurus or ordinary dictionary. Wikipedia is afterall alterable by anyone who reads it. I have written a jingle in Wiki, about a monk, and stuck it in a serious section on the history of a monastery and it is still there after two years.
