Hi, everyone! Darren/Killraven again.
If you got my email, and you're interested in the revival of the Sydney City Write-Ins, let's all talk here.

Thanks, man! Definitely makes more sense than having to reply individually to everybody. I'm going to use the magic of cut&paste to stick my reply to you up here. Y'know, for the greater good and all.
Howdy!
I'm actually *not* from the '07 Sydney crew - that would be because I'm a geographically displaced Canadian ML (from Atlantic Canada), doing a semester on exchange here in Sydney. I'm doing Script Frenzy here and I'd also love to meet up with some of y'all who have done NaNo and who are generally fun writerly types. Two questions:
1) What time would the meetings be on Sunday? and
2) Where's the Star Bar? (I'm living in North Ryde so I'll have to figure out how to get a bus there... any help on that front would be most wholesomely appreciated)
Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Hey! I did send you a reply, and so I will only ask to most serious question... is there one closer to Mosman? I'm sure you're all very nice people, and I would love to come, but it IS a little far to travel. Especially as there is a likely hood my parents won't even let me go, the closer the better, you know what I mean?

miss.y is, or was, running write-ins in North Sydney, like she did in November last year.
Give her a buzz.

1) What time would the meetings be on Sunday?
If we held them at Star Bar, it opens at midday, so we could start then and go up to 6pm
2) Where's the Star Bar? (I'm living in North Ryde so I'll have to figure out how to get a bus there... any help on that front would be most wholesomely appreciated)
Star Bar is on George Street, directly across the street from the Greater Union multiplex.
It's also barely five minutes' walk from both Town Hall Station and the York Street Bus Interchange behind the Queen Victoria Building.
Here's their website - http://www.starbar.com.au/
Good things about Star Bar:
* the food's pretty good, and the kitchen is open 12pm-10pm
* there's a table there near several powerpoints which was very handy for those of us using laptops
The only concern about Star Bar is that, because it serves alcohol, any of us NaNo-oldies would have to ensure that no NaNo-minors hit the booze and stays beyond 10pm.
Of course, there are other options, so other suggestions are welcomed.

Heya,
Just indicating that I'd be interested in coming - I didn't come to anything Nano related in 2007 (frankly I made a really bad start it and it kept going down hill from there), but participated in 2006 and am continuing work on that novel, so the opportunity to set aside time to write would be terrific.

I'd love to come. I look forward to seeing you and the other Sydney writers I met last year again.

Darren/Killraven here again.
This Sunday, the 30th, the Sydney contingent for Script Frenzy! (SF!) 2008 will be holding their kick-off meet-up, at which we'll be discussing things like when we'll be holding our write-ins and whatever else during April.
So, either Sunday night or Monday, I'll return here with a suggested date for when we can do a write-in in April, either separate from SF! or with it.
By the way, who else here is doing SF! next month?

I am! I'm over and commenting on those boards as well. (Sundays are likely going to be troublesome for me, as I'm in a musical production that has rehearsals then... so I hope there are some meetings at other times as well.)

Me too: I'll do the novel I didn't finish in 07, my first year nano-ing.
