This forumn is depressingly inactive, so I thought I'd drop a note to see if anyone was around, and still interested in chatting with other nanoers.

I did depressingly bad last year- mostly due to illness- and failed to finish for the first time since my first attempt. I'm hoping to get back on the wagon for next november, but I could use support from friendly fellow nanoers. I moved here from Minnesota last October, and the group there was very outgoing and talkative so I've sort of gotten used to that.

Anyway, enough of me feeling a bit homesick. What's everyone else up to, in our lovely weather (blah)

Hello! I'm sorry about not finishing, that really sucks. The title is actually really awesome. But you'll totally do great this year! Are you working on any other writing right now? How are you liking VA?

If you are anywhere near Vienna, VA, the Vienna Writers Committment Group still meets every Tuesday from 10-noon in the quiet room at Patrick Henry Library. We all work on our own writing for 2 hours and then have lunch together at the Vienna Inn across the street.

Come write with us if your schedule allows!

Where are you in Northern Virginia? There are several of us who live in the Northern Virginia area but belong to the Shenandoah Region because Arlington/Vienna/Fairfax are just too far to travel to on a weekly basis. If you are near Winchester or Front Royal come check us out.

I live in Manassas. We're enjoying VA, so far. My husband lived here for a while in elementary school, and is brother lives in Dumfries, so that makes it easier.
Right now I'm working on edits for my first novel, and thinking about working on last years nano. But its all kind of up in the air, and dependant on whether or not my son is in a mood to entertain himself for a while so I can work.
I would love to get a writing group/whatever together, but it didnt seem like anybody in manassas was very active. I showed up to a write-in (the night before I went to the hospital) but there was nobody there.
Anyway, hows life in general for everybody?

Hello - I am not even a novice writer, but I am looking for a group to help me develop writing craft and critique my work. I am working on a fantasy trilogy for the Forgotten Realms fantasy world from Wizards of the Coast. I found out from them that they do accept work from new and even unpublished writers (me) but only at certain times. I would like to have all three finished before I contact them. I also need to have all three finished at the same time since that is the way they are coming to me. Are there any groups close to the Culpeper/Warrenton area that meet regularly?

Sorry this is so late in coming, I havent checked back here recently.
Since I've only been here since last november I dont know of anything in the culpepper area (I'll admit I'm not even really sure where that is) but if you find some other people and want to get something going I'd be glad to join. Evening or weekends (I have a little boy so I'm busy during the day).
I've done a fair amount of critique stuff, and I suspect I can be some help on development. Or at least suggest some good books and such.
