This isn't so much a dare or challenge, this is an invite for a collaborative effort, so to speak.

I'm an impatient sort of guy, who doesn't want to wait til November to start the next novel, but I'd love to get others involved so there's that group support/push/urge/competition thing.

I have a fantasy novel to finish, but I'm about to start a sci-fi novel. Very little in the way of spaceships and the like, but heavy on drama and politics and intrigue and that sort.

Anybody interested in joining in?

wander over to script frenzy and take your idea to the big or little screen, stage or graphic novel, or maybe even a radio play. I haven't time right now. I've a list of 24 Big fun scary challanges to do, and four more scripts to fininsh before april ends (to get five times the frenzy as it were) and then I got to take care of some real life things beofre going back and editing and expanding some of my other writings. Then there is the illustrative projects I have to take care of and then maybe I'll start a novel in the summer.

All while working and looking for a new job. Otherwise I'd join you.

I signed up in December, so I got impatient and started a novel in January, but I only got half way when it died. The group support/push/competition would definitely help. I would join you but it depends on whether my home computer gets fixed or not (I am at the library now).

In the meantime, try http://www.nanocomo.org (National Novel Continuing Month). This is a monthly event, reset on the 1st of every month. There are only about 100 members, so I don't know how active the boards are, I just found out about it myself.

When do you want to start your next book? the beginning of the next month, or right away?

I'm about ready to start that up now. I'm finishing up a fantasy novel - one that I reopened (didn't like the ending!).

I'll certainly take a look at that, but I'm open to starting mid month as well. I strongly adhere to the concept that a calendar in purposes like this are mere numbers on a board - I can start on day 100 as well as day 106. (That's today and April 15, by the way.)

I'm going to go check out that site, though - thank you!

sgenise - how about we do this, we start our new stories on May 16th - official start time is 12:01 am EST, May 16.

(I never realized just how dramatic that would "sound" until I wrote it out just now! *laugh*)

I'll put a message up here for that.
