Well. I'm so happy I could just plotz. My Alphasmart did a system update on Sunday, which deleted everything in its memory. Everything. So now I gotta go back and re-update chapters 9-16 from my notes, which I'll probably just do directly onto the computer and save the empty files on the Alphasmart for another project which I pulled from the depths of my file cabinet (not sure if the conflict I'm creating feels like conflict for the sake of it or if it's actually going to work.)

Always keep your files in multiple places. Watching students lose work (usually the night before it's due) while working in a computer lab for 4 years taught me that.
