Okay, so it's not quite summer yet, but it feels like it's getting close.

Now that SF is over, I thought I'd start a new thread back here for organizing meet-ups and so on.

How about this Saturday, May the tenth, 2 pm at Daneva?

As far as I know, that sounds good.

Actually, I might not be able to make it after all... something came up for around 4 Saturday afternoon. Maybe I'll pop by for earlier - or maybe we should call it off for Mother's day weekend and try again next time? Anybody out there??

I'm not going to be able to make it, either. Sorry.

Okay... I think I still *can* make it, but I'm probably not going to try unless somebody else speaks up. :)

It's a definite possibility -- depending on the date and time.

Possibly. Depends on what day it's on and if my plans become solid.

Okay, so what days are good for people? Saturday in the early afternoon at Cafe Daneva? Around 1pm?

I'd like to add my own little thing to this.

I'm usually at the Courtyard coffee house on Locke st (near Herkimer) on Monday afternoons, writing, all by my lonesome.

This is the only day I can do things like this, and any who are able and willing to join me are welcome.

Well, usually monday afternoons aren't good for me, because I'm at work, but with the holiday I'll come down and write with you I think. When do you usually get there?

Varies. Depends on what else is going on that day. I'm always gone before 5:30 though, as I have a weekly commitment. Rarely is it before 1.

I'll not be there this Monday though, at least, not for a terribly long time (possibly to read the paper) I can occasionally be found Sunday afternoons, too, though that's far more sporadic.

...my jar of life is full of sand and pebbles and golf balls.

And now I shall add beer.

Okay, I didn't manage to make it anywhere over the long weekend to meet anybody. Not sure if anybody else did.

Maybe if we start planning earlier for May 24th-25th that'll help? :-D

Well, unless I hear that some other time would be better, I'll head up to Daneva for around 12:30 tomorrow and work on my latest chapter up there until at least 2. Hope to see somebody there.

Anyone up for a Sunday meet to start off June? I'm going to be doing StringMo with some of Gale's fun 'string words' friends I think, so it'd be great to meet some people the first day of the event.

Sunday sounds good. I was writing a textbook for my workplace almost all of May so I have been deep inside a work pocket with meetings and plenary sessions and all good things.

I am now much freer.

I'll join you Chris. Hope some others can chime in and bring us back to our fuller time status.

What time on Sunday? Should we meet at Daneva? I really love it at Williams down on the pier at the bottom of Bay St. North. Lots of good food, cheap, etc. Free wireless. Very large and busy place, but not so busy that there aren't always lots of seats, etc.

Rhonda.

Okay, I'm up for giving this new Williams place a try... it's near James street north and Burlington street, right? Shouldn't be far from the Bayfront route.

How about meeting in the 1:30-2:00 range? Looks like there's only a bayfront bus every half hour on Sundays, so I'd probably be getting there around ten-fifteen minutes after the half hour. :)

And wherever I go, the eeepc will be coming too!

1:30ish sounds good. I think it's right on the bayfront route.

See you then,

Rhonda.

Depends on how I feel. I am partying all night Saturday, so . . .

Which means, if I do go, I'll take the bus, I don't want to ask you last minute, Ms Rhonda! :)

Sure.
Rhonda, call me like half an hour before you're going to leave so I can be all ready. That is, if you don't mind driving. I'm at my mums, so if it's outta the way I'll take a bus.

Okay.
I'll be taking the bus, and might be there a bit before 1 if I catch the 12:40 from downtown, or more than a bit later if I miss that one. Gonna be a hot one again, but out near the water hopefully won't be too bad! :)

Hello all,

Just looking to plan for next week. Should we do Sunday or Saturday? Around 1:30 (same as yesterday is good for me).

Rhonda.

Sunday would be better for me as the parade and festival are on Sat, but Sun is also Father's Day, so neither is really good actually . . .

I could try and make it Sun, though, but not on Sat at all, so I'll have to play it by what happens Sun (I'm not sure what my fam is doing that day, so . . .)

Anyway, that's my input.
