I see some threads on the first page, log in and then they disappear. Are there some general problems with disappearing threads?

Probably has to do with the site cache. I'm not sure of the technical details, but I do know that the cache works differently for logged in users.

I agree with Dragonchilde that it is likely the site cache... but can you give us a link or two that you see when not logged in and then do not see when you are logged in? It could be the cache, or it could be as simple as a difference in the sorting.

Sometimes the threads on the first page of a forum might have a last reply of 2 hours ago, sometimes it can be 20+weeks. This isn't just some threads, it is all of the threads on the first page and it seems to be random as well.
It is annoying.
