I realize that the goal of this month's exploits is to appreciate words and to use them to the very extents of their limits. However, I've found that there are words out there that if possible, I would like to strangle with every ounce of my strength. Usage has its limits when you write that one word you've written down for the thousandth time again for the thousandth and one time. We all know what those words are, so here is where we can finally put them to rest, because some deity out there knows how much they need it.

Here lies the word Look.
I have fantasized your slow horrible execution in my dreams, though I realize your importance. For without words, there wouldn't be characters, and with out you, they would not be able to gaze out across that horizon for the millionth time. May you never become a zombie...

Word war throw down official sign up and smack down thread

If you've read your email then you know the challenge and the prize.
If you want to be a part of the throw down you MUST sign up by November 7, 2009 12 a.m. no exceptions.
Polite smack downs and trash talking is encouraged, nothing too vulgar please as there are youngsters about.

Part 1:
The first person to reach 75,000 words and send me or our illustrious ML a screen shot of their accomplishment will be awarded a one gig memory stick. It also has to be verified by the nano word counter.
Hold on to your words, there's more...

Part 2:
The person with the highest word count on November 30th wins an 8 gig memory stick. I will be accepting screen shots with a time date stamp until 6 a.m. December 1st. Just hover your mouse over the time on the task bar when you take your screen shot and then send it to me or Liz. It also has to be verified by the nano word counter.

Other Stuff like rules and such:
No lurking allowed. You can boast, brag or whine, and as I said earlier polite smack downs and trash talking will be encouraged. You MUST post your progress at least twice a week. It kind of gives the rest of us an idea as to what we are up against and keeps us motivated. I'm bringing the prizes to the kick off on Saturday if you'd like to peruse the sweet give aways.

Also, I intend on signing up and keeping said prizes to myself... evil laughter ensues

Okay, kids! You know the drill...

This Saturday - November 21st - at Panera Bread (9301 Atlantic Boulevard, Jacksonville - located in the shopping area near Regency Mall. Call (904) 722-2725 for further directions) 10am - 4pm (come and go as you please)

Most in the group have discovered these Write-Ins to be the best way to boost our word counts (for our own personal benefits and for the sheer satisfaction of kicking Tallahassee's collective butts) Plus, we keep each other laughing - so, if you're new, come out and play! We don't bite...hard. ;-)

Keep in mind, this will be the last weekend before some of us scatter off for the Thanksgiving holiday and then *BOOM* five days later, NaNoWriMo 2009 is one for the history books. Which means, we should start talking "End of NaNoWriMo" festivities...a few of us were thinking maybe something during the first weekend of Decemeber. (I'll start another thread for this discussion so you can leave your thoughts there)

All righty! Who feels like coming out to the boondocks for some writing? It'll be fun! We can go cow tipping and I'll serve corn whiskey and bring out my best fiddlin' music for ya'al!

But seriously... I'm kind of stuck close to home this week since the parentals are somewhere in the Bahama's right now and I have a dozen sibbies to watch.

There are several options available to us. So vote for what you want most and we'll do that ^_^

Taco Bell (Crappy wi-fi connection and very small)
Hardee's (NO wi-fi but I know everybody there and they won't care if we're loud)
MacDonalds (Wi-fi and small)
PIzza Hut (No wi-fi and crowded)
Starbucks (TINY with pay-by-hour wi-fi There is a patio though so we could sit out there)

That's about it. Sorry guys :( Let me know who's willing to come out and we'll pick a place ^_^

I'd offer up my house which is huge and has a great wi-fi connection but the folks were pretty clear, no people over *sadness*

This area will have tables and outlets (but still a good idea to bring your cords with the multiple plugs). This space has been booked for this Saturday and every Saturday through November, for us, starting at 10am until 3/4pm (or whenever you feel like leaving - so come and go as you please).

Let's Meet-up! All the other meet-ups are in the middle of nowhere for Lazy Pedestrian Man

Planned using this handy chart:

Objective: To Find a Relatively Quiet, Cheap Restaurant suitable for Meet-up'ing. Then to Meet-up!

Goal: Ideas, Interest.

Time: I can be free any time or day, since I'm freelance, but since I don't drive in Jax it'd be best for me to do something near the Orange Park Mall area.

Folk: I'm a social drinker and talker. So are you, probably.
