After a minor technical difficulty, we have now got our new store (well, our old store, newly stocked!) up and running! We hope you guys will enjoy some of the awesome merchandise we've got lined up with Patrick's kick-ass school crest.

As explained in the "The 2008 Edmowrimo Theme" thread, we've got an awesome plan for this year's events. What great school would be complete without school uniforms? Show your Edmowrimo pride with something from our fantastic new store. The (very limited) proceeds from this year's store will go to support NaNoWriMo HQ, and will contribute to the Edmowrimo category in this year's fundraising contest!

Go here to check out the store!

By popular request, we now have House-Specific stores! Find your house's store and pick up a shirt to show your house pride!

Exclamador!
(Parentheclaw)
Ellipsipuff...
Questeryn?

Be sure to check out the backs of the shirts too!

Seriously though. Buy Things.

It's important. You don't really KNOW how much work goes into organising all the crazy events these guys create for you. And the money... my god. The money spent on this event could support a (very) small country. And the MLs pay for it out of their own pockets if there aren't enough donations. Not to MENTION the fact that if HQ (the Office of Letters and Light, the non-profit headed by Chris Baty that runs NaNoWriMo, Script Frenzy, and the Young Writers Prgram) doesn't make enough money... then there will be no more NaNoWriMo. The employees of the OOLAL are sworn to commit Hari Kari if they have a budget deficit. You don't want that to happen.

I should mention that there are other ways to support both the EdmoWrimos and NaNoWriMo aside from buying merchandise, varying from donating directly to the site using the link above to donating spare change at EdmoWrimo events to bringing books to the Nov 22nd booksale. (Stay tuned for more information on donation and fundraising.) Don't feel you have to buy merch to support the events; I plan on buying a T-shirt purely because I love Patrick's crest design.

Oh, here's a question. I know i can donate by cheque to the Office of L&L. (did that last year)
Do you know if I can specify that Edmowrimo can get a portion of that donation?

If you have Edmonton listed as your home region, your donation "counts" towards the Edmonton totals, which helps us in the inter-region fundraising contest that's happening this year. However, the money doesn't come to us. (Which is fine - HQ's expenses are a lot larger than ours!)

Yeah, Kiyoshi, I'm really sorry about that. I edited the first post in the thread to reflect the current technical issues. We are working on it! (Grr.)

One issue that might come up, if it hasn't already: the last time I tried to purchase something through Cafe Press (not NaNo-related) shipping to Canada was $21.00.

To save on shipping costs, it might help to organize a mass order - if anyone would be into that.

Shipping has actually gotten SIGNIFICANTLY more reasonable. (Huzzah!) The first item you order is $6, additional items are $3. So group shipping only saves you $3, really. Better than a kick in the pants but possibly not worth the hassle.

So if you're ordering a zillion things, it adds up, but if you're just getting a shirt or two it's not too bad.

Have you ordered your Edmowrimo swag yet? As some of you saw at the Kick-Off Party, Patrick's awesome design looks AMAZING on the merchandise.

There are lots of CafePress coupons listed here - order now to get it in time for some of the events this month! Go in with your friends to use larger discounts! Be the envy of the NaNoWriMo world with your stylish Edmowrimo Gear!

Question! On the Cafe Press site, it seems that they don't come with the (House), House?, House!, and House... on the back... did you guys have to special order those?

I also can't seem to get them in different colors. I've never used CafePress before - am I just missing something?

We actually ordered our house-specific shirts from a different site. (Sorry.) That said, I just talked to Learan briefly and I'm going to try to rustle up some house-specific shirts on Cafe Press. Stay tuned.

Bumping, because you can now check out the house-specific stores! The links are in the first post. (You can combine shipping from multiple stores, so don't worry about that!)
