Dear Office of Letters and Light:
We love you guys.
No, really, we do! You do so much work to make sure that we all get to goof off in the forums, coming up with ever more inventive ways to procrastinate and put off writing our novels. Your work mostly happens behind the scenes where we don't see it. We sometimes forget that this whole insane experience wouldn't happen without your efforts.
We know that your office is small (did you ever get the new shelving up?) and insane during November. Yet you never complain (at least, not where we can hear you!) You keep cheerfully trucking on. And we love you for that.
So let me be the first (though not the last!) to say, Thank You. This event means so much to us. This community means so much. I've made some of my best friends through NaNoWriMo. Most of us can report that after finishing a NaNoNovel, we feel much more capable of achieving our dreams and our goals. We've come to believe that we really can do anything if we approach it with passion, a willingness to work, and a good sense of humor. It's quite a gift.
So, thank you. We appreciate you.
Joi

Thank you so much! NaNoWriMo has changed so many lives, mine included, and knowing that a group of people like you is so dedicated to making sure the show goes on every year, on time (and sometimes even early, like with the launch of the forums!) is part of the fun. We're in for some surprises this year, just like with every year, but we know that whatever happens, you're always there to make sure things keep going and to answer any questions we have about the event. So thank you so much, and may your word counts rise come November!

Thank you so much Office of Letters of Light. I think that NaNoWriMo is one of the best things for society today. It is inspiring people to write and allowing them to discover a love of writing or a renewed love for writing. Every year I look forward to NaNo more than Christmas and I just want to say thank you for keeping the event going. You all are the best and I wish I could give big hugs to all of you!

I want to add to the Thank You's too. I love coming to visit the forums and I've learned a lot about writing. And I'm feeling braver this year about the noveling process. None of this growth would be possible without the hard work everyone in the office does to keep the site and its inspiration going. Thanks Guys, may the hair on your toes never fall out. :D

A huge "Thank You" from me too. You guys are amazing for doing this every year. For setting the forums up, watching them crash on November 1st and setting them up all over again. You are an inspiration to everyone, you're encouraging and wonderful and give me something to look forward to year after year. I even bought the 10th anniversary T-shirt to wear this year whilst I'm writing (don't worry, it'll get washed during non-writing sessions). NaNo gets more fun every year and I get to meet and interact with some amazing people along the way. So thank you.

Oh man, yes, you guys are awesome! One friend that was debating participating or not basically considers your emails a giant reason to continue. It makes me feel like we would all be best friends if we knew each other-- which is also a prevailing feeling through the forums. Thank you for giving us all a place to be whacky with each other and to laugh at that special NaNo way of phrasing even the most mundane things.
Continue rocking on, Office of Letters and Light. Inspire us for years to come to do what feels right and awesome.
