what is your current word count?

Mine stands at 20k now. I am stunned I got so far already. I fazed out last year on 11k.

Who can't see any of the author info for threads on these region boards? The other boards show us who the last poster was on each thread, etc., but not in here!

There's a great cafe inside/outside tables in Armadale. Is anyone interested in meeting up in the east?

Perth, Freo and Mandurah sound great, but they're a bit far for me. As much as I'd love to, I don't think I'd ever make it.

BUT I really really REALLY want to go to a nano meet up. Open for suggestions ... :-)

So, what's your story about? How are you attacking it? Do you have a plan/synopsis in place or are you making it up as you go along?

Do you consider yourself character/plot/idea/dialogue/other driven?

What are your strengths?

What are your weaknesses?

What do you do when you hit a wall?

What do you do rather than write? ie I will write today, just as soon as I've...(we call this cat vacuuming)

Hello and a little introduction!

Hello everyone :)

I just realised it was November, and that means NaNoWriMo! I particpated quite a few years ago in the very early years when I was studying Creative Writing at Murdoch, but since then had been too busy to make the time. This year I've changed career to return to my writing roots, leaving I.T. to be an independent magazine publisher and writer, so working on NaNoWriMo is much more doable, and exciting too!

I have a lot of projects I could work on, but I've decided to be a bit of a NaNo Rebel and go for non-fiction, writing a book I've had in mind for a long time. My goal is to write towards it every day and get the content out of my brain, and by the end of the month be left with a first draft / outline. This month is going to be big as I need to get two magazines out too, but I would say there will be some cross over there, which is good as I need to stop procrastinating and get writing :)

I live and work in Gosnells, and it'd be good motivation to meet up with others!

My head hurts....

After writing like a maniac for the past five days one would assume I am running out ideas. Instead the characters from my other unfinished novels, which happen to live in my head, are screaming for attention. Every one of them then has offered up a new peice to their own particualr story demanding they be heard. Slamming my head on the desk to quieten them doesn't help, I discovered to my detriment.

So if anyone sees a woman running down the street screaming as if the hounds of hell are on her heels be assured you are safe enough for it is only I the crazy lady from the hills.

Would someonemind loosening the buckles I think the straps on this lovely wrap around coat are a bit tight.......

Assuming there will be at least 6 of us attending a write-in it was difficult to find a cafe willing to host for a couple of hours on a weekend - their busy-time and all. So... for the "official" NaNoWriMo write-in we're sticking with the Thursday thing, as per last year, only a breakfast instead of afternoon.

Where: Caffe Bookshop, Mill Point Rd, South Perth
When: every Thursday 9am throughout November
What to bring: Your novel in progress, $ for coffee and maybe breakfast

Maybe this was leftover from a few years back when I actually DID live north of the river briefly, but...I'm a south of the river girl and proud!! And I have only just joined this 'region'. Damn!

It's a bit sad to see that we don't have more action in here, but at least there are a few threads :D

I'm actually at work now which sux as I'd rather be at home writing, but in a way it's probably better I get to build up my anticipation while I'm away from the story so I can write like mad when I get back to it!
