Hero Wanted:

Please send an email with your interest, and let us know what qualifies
you to help with said job.

Treasurer (business partnerships, gift cards, record of money going in
and out)
We are looking for someone who is willing to contact 20 or so
businesses in order to gather donations of cash, gift cards and more.
This person will be aided by Municipal Liaisons but will ultimately be
the contact for all business support. Our biggest obstacle this year is
time. Most places go through their corporate office for donations, and
can not hand out donations without proper paperwork and channels being
gone through. We have all of the appropriate paperwork needed for this.
Also, it's important to us to find businesses who are willing to donate
gift cards, or money to Vancouver to support our Regional Kick-Off
party as well as our Thank Goodness Its Over party (TGIO). Because
we've had such trouble with this in previous years we're looking for
someone with skill in fund raising as well as a motivated individual.

We have several leads for possible donators, but cannot contact them
all ourselves. We're simply too busy with other aspects of our jobs to
give this the true effort that is needed.

Press Liaison (aka media master/mistress) -

We are looking to promote National Novel Writing Month as best we can.
We have contact information for some of the TV stations, as well as
contact information for the newspapers. We will need someone to contact
these media and present our press release, and donation requests. This
volunteer position will only require 3-6 hours total, but can take more
if other media are found. We're looking for ambition to seek out other
forms of media than the ones we currently have, in order to promote,
and fund raise for the area.
