I just went thru the eight pages of the forum Dare thread. I thought it would be easier to find if we have one in this area. I currently have 3 pages of dares from the forum so look there too.
My dare is to use a broom as an important plot prop.
I'm sure I'll come up with others before we start.

When I reminded you to back up your novel, I got carried away and kept writing. I haven't been able to stop writing (for long) since the beginning of November. Wonder why?
Hey, maybe these disasters are fodder for extending your NaNovel. Okay, Wrimos, I double dog dare ya to include a NaNo disaster somewhere in your novel.
= the ultimate of dares,
one that you cannot refuse;
to up the ante when something
dared seems especially daunting.

I moved this dare from Word Count to the Dare Thread.
Work the phrase "fuddy duddy" into your NaNovel
Haha! I have already put "fuddy-duddy" in my novel. Do you suppose using that term may have to do with the fact that my protagonist "are one"? She's an old fogy who is reluctant to change ... at least some things. At our next gathering, I say we have a report on how many dares you have managed to incorporate into your novel. Bring along the sentence you wrote that uses the word(s), and let's see how many of us are either......
(1) BRAVE enough to do it, or
(2) desperate enough for words that you NEEDED to do it.
You can tell us if you fall into one category or the other ... or maybe you fit in a third category?

Hey! Where's our ZOMBIE dare? Who threw away our zombies? I am reconstructing that dare from my email ... luckily, I saved my notification, which I get every time something is posted on our Chattanooga Regional forum. I had posted this one on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at 8:12 PM.
FamaIgnota said her word count would've been a lot more, but those darn zombies distracted her. LookoutBelle said meeting other zombie-inspired minds is proof she isn't alone in this crazy endeavor of literary abandon. Isil Elensar said, and I quote, "The zombies. They're everywhere!" So here's the dare:
Work the word "zombie" into your NaNovel.
Here are all four of our dares to date:

Wow, I missed some of those. Thanks for reposting! Guess I better get to adding fuddy-duddy...

This is how to see whether you are being informed about everything you want to read:
Click on USER SETTINGS on your author profile page.
Click on the NOTIFICATIONS tab so see what pages and categories you are set up to receive.
The way to subscribe to a thread is to......
Click on SUBSCRIBE at the bottom of the first post on each thread. It's in red, so you can't miss it. That means, of course, you have to actually get on the FORUM and read the actual post. This is ONE reason for reading the actual posts, rather than simply scanning your email version.
Reasons for coming to the forum to read each actual post:
(1) the SUBSCRIBE link is not emailed.
(2) the PICTURES are not emailed.
(3) the emails are TRUNCATED if the post is long, so you don't get everything in emails. (Unfortunately, I put this at the bottom of the post and some of you may not get it. Oh, well.)
