Hello, all! I think it's great we finally have a North Shore section, but I'm saddened because nobody's posted here yet! Do we even have a liason, or someone who can help organize meet-ups and the like? I would really like to have weekly meetings that are close to home, so I don't have to take trains and buses into Boston all the time (as I don't drive). So, is there anybody around that wants to plan and be NaNo buddies? Anyone? Bueller?

I'm here! I'm not a liason, but I'd be happy to arrange for a once a week meeting in the greater Newburyport area or in Seabrook, NH.

Hello! I'm in the Peabody/Salem area myself...maybe we can meet somewhere halfway?

Aw, where's our ML from last year? She was fun! :)

I'm in the Rowley / Newburyport area. Last year we had our meetups at the Borders down in Peabody and the Congregational Church in Newburyport. I'm looking forward to my third year with NaNo :)

Hi all! Getting ready to do my second NaNoWriMo, even though I am just beginning to tiptoe into the revision of what I wrote last year. It was so much fun, though, that I want to do it again! Didn't make it to any of the area meetups last year, but really appreciated the regional online support, and hope to get to a meetup or two this year -- Peabody/Salem area works better for me.

I think it would be awesome to have meetups at the Borders in Peabody again this year! I remember meeting there once in 2006. Unfortunately, I work nights, so the only afternoon/evening I could meet would be Friday or Saturday.

Anyone else think this is a good place and/or time? Since we don't seem to have a ML, we could all work together to plan and arrange meets. I've never really organized anything before so I have no idea how to go about it; would we need to get permission from the bookstore to use their space?

I'm here! I'm excited for the North Shore section!! I'm from Georgetown near Newburyport/Rowley etc... I was thinking about becoming a ML, but I don't think I have the time to dedicate to it, but I would love to help set up meeting and things :) The Borders idea sounds perfect!

All right, just dug up tyketto's email from within the depths of my inbox (she was our ML last year) and asked if she's coming back. I'm always kind of nervous emailing people out of the blue, but hey, couldn't hurt, right?

This'll be my third year doing NaNo and my third year with the North Shore group, so I'd like to throw my hat into the ring for ML-dom if she won't be doing it again this year.

I would LOVE to do NaNo again this year, after successfully completing my first year! However, my current job is eating my soul, my creativity and all my spare time.

I'd love to meet up at some write-ins, but can't promise continuity. Would folks be amenable to an on-again, off-again NaNo-er at the meetings?

Borders in Peabody works for me....

I don't see why that would bother any one. Heck, I never ended up coming to the TGIO party last year :D

Yay, I'm excited to see some conversation here! I think tomorrow I will scout out Borders, maybe ask someone about holding meetings there.

I've only ever gone to one meet-up my entire NaNo existance, so I certainly hope selective showings are all right! I may not be able to make them all, either, depending on what day of the week we decide on.

Greetings!

Last year's ML here.

I won't be able to ML this year (husband will be in China for the 1st part of November) - but - I still have some of the bags I created from last year (if my children haven't found them) and could bring some to a meeting.

Am looking forward to going to a meet-up or two if I can find a babysitter while my hubby is gone.

Anyone have any ideas for novels? Since I've been sewing a lot I think I'm going to work aprons into my novel this year.

Write on! Beth

I'm in Beverly- is anyone else? Would you like to meet up for a pre-nano brainstorming session here? Atomic Cafe?

I've applied to be ML but have yet to hear. Last year's ML Beth has had some time freed up and could possibly cover the North North Shore while I cover the South. Borders in Peabody worked really well for me. I'd be happy to coordinate the meetings whether or not I'm the official ML. Maybe someone else could do the same for the NNS. We should have one big kick-off party though! Glad to see some familiar names back again; this is getting exciting!

Hi,
This is my second year doing Nano, but last year I was in Halifax, NS so I am new to the North Shore group. I am in Beverly.
Hope that we do find some good times and places to meet because last year I actually broke out of my solitary writer shell and went to a couple of meetings and it was fun! Who knew...

Hey All!

Second Year at NaNo for me but I didn't go to Write-Ins last year at all. I have much more free time this Nov and plan on being able to make some at least. I am in Medford / but Beverly/Peabody area is fine for me! Just let me know when and where!

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hi Kat!

We've got our weekly meet-ups planned for every Wednesday between 5:30pm - 8:00pm at the Rowley library and a bi-weekly meet-up at the Beverly Panera Bread on Saturdays starting at 2pm.

Hope to see you there :)
