I was thinking of buying an AlphaSmart NEO (or possible DANA, but those run about the same cost as an eeePC, so who knows...).

I've only used a very old unit and remember the kepboard being very stiff. Does anyone out there own and use a new(er) one? Can you please inform me/us of the type response?

Thanks in advance!

I won both old Alphasmarts and a new Neo. It is absolutely essential to my writing. I love the instant on featires, love the use of it daily. Eays to type, no sticking keys. YOu can find older ones on eBay often, but sometimes with stuck keys, et cetera. I thiunk for $219, new including generous warranty, it cannot be beat. I simply type all I want, istant on, long battery life, and then connect to MS Word, and one push button, bang, it moves all my typed text to the computer. I adore it.

Here's an online overview. Ask if you have any further questions. CD1
