OK, Panhandlers. Let's get some comments going here. I represent the southern tip of the Texas Panhandle (as defined by governmental entities--15 miles south, and you're in the South Plains), but I have lived in various places in the Panhandle--all about 50 miles from Amarillo. Grad of WT. I won't say the year, but we weren't Aggies then. (Didn't win any football games then, either!)

Wasn't sure if anyone from the Panhandle would show up! Thanks for posting and it's nice to meet you. I'm also a WT grad, and this is my first try at NaNo. I look forward to hearing about everyone's progress.

Hey guys. Hate to say it, but I live in North Carolina now. My family is still in Amarillo though for the next several months so I will be coming back and forth. Do I still get to play with you guys? :)

I'm glad someone posted ;) I was feeling overly shy and didn't want to be the first one. I live in Amarillo, this is my first try at nanowrimo, but i've had several friends attempt it over the years. Finally I have enough quiet time and drive to give it a shot. I'm a student at AC, married, 1 child, and many many pets ;) Hope to hear from more people in the area!

Count me in! I live close to Borger. Unmarried, still live at home, this is my second Nano. I'm hoping to use this year to get the second book in my series onto paper, however messily. Glad to know there are some others in the area doing Nano.

Cheers!

I'm new to Nano this year. My nephew in KC challanged me to join and write. Can you imagine? Challanged me. I've been writing for awhile but nothing ever published. I've fallen out of the habit of writing so I hope I'll manage to work in the time for this. Don't expect anything pretty.

I hope you guys don't mind me sticking my head in and seeing what all goes on in this forum.

I'm a first-timer for this. I nearly did it last year, but work was just too crazy and I knew that I wouldn't have the time. I am a transplanted Amarillo native currently living in Lubbock, but Amarillo has always been my home and always will be. If I had the choice, I would be living there now. I am also a graduate of WT like some of you here.

I am looking forward to the experience of doing this and I hope it will help me to flex that old creative muscle that I have allowed to atrophy over the last couple of years.

Hello all! I'm finally able to participate fully in this group! I'm living here for a year, and I'm, of course, participating in Nano again for my fifth year. I have to admit, I had a really bad experience with my group last year, so I'm a little weary of trying again.

However, despite that, I was wondering if all of you would be interesting in meet ups. They are really handy, so I will be starting another thread to discuss those!

I hope everyone has a lot of fun this year, and I wish everyone the best of luck!

=]]] Hello everyone!

I'm from Amarillo. I'm 18 and currently a Senior in high school. [Feels so young ... ]
This is my second year to do NaNoWriMo.
This year I hope we can meet up and what not, as I feel it would be more fun knowing some other people in my area interested in not only NaNo, but writing and reading and being awesome and all that fun stuff.

I'm hoping to go up North to college, but it all depends on the money and what scholarships come from where.
I play softball and French Horn, but don't plan on doing either after high school.

Hmmm ... I'm pretty out going, I get along with most people, and I'm always interested in talking to people, so message me if you like and I hope to see you around! =]

Greetings, fellow NaNo-ers!

I'm living in Amarillo...I'm not really from anywhere, having moved 12 times in my 17 years. (I'm even younger!)
This is my second NaNo...Last time was 2006, and I struggled through every minute of it.
I'm a senior in high school, and I'm looking at Texas Tech as a political science/history major.
I'm in choir and debate, and that pretty much eats at whatever time I'm not procrastinating and basking in my Senioritis. It's already really bad.
