Technically I live in this country, but I'm still spending every weekend zipping from one end of Switzerland to the other - and that's DEFINITELY not going to change in November. My problem? Train travel makes me very sleepy, so I never get any writing done.
Anyone else tackling 50k whilst travelling? Where are you? What are you writing about? Laptop, paper, or palm tree leaf?

Around Thanksgiving (November 27th for our non-US NaNites), my husband and I are having an orphan's Thanksgiving for those of our friends who can't/won't spend it with their families. So the Sunday before hand, my laptop will be running on batteries while we drive to Virginia Beach. That whole week, I'll be running back and forth between the kitchen (where I will be cooking for an army) and my laptop. Then, we head up to Baltimore for DarkoverCon and we'll finish the month in Baltimore, with me holing up in Panera's trying to get my word count in before midnight on the 30th.

I'll be writing my entire story on the train; I have a hour and a half commute to work, so that's prime writing time right there. I've got an Asus Eee 701 mini laptop to write on, which is excellent. It's so light-weight I can comfortably balance it on my lap while I write, while I'm already in more-or-less touch typing mode with the keyboard.
Sometimes I do get sleepy, though. Usually on my way home from work, but if I don't get enough sleep, I might feel like dozing off in the morning too. There's not really much I can do about that except buy a cup of coffee. That keeps me awake enough to get my writing out of the way.

I'm studying abroad in Rome until December, and in November I'll be traveling probably every weekend. One weekend to Northern Italy, another weekend will be touring Rome as an activity organized by school, one weekend in Monte Carlo because I really want to see it, and maybe one weekend in Barcelona. At least I plan on Monte Carlo being a chill weekend, so maybe I'll novel on the beach. And since Barcelona would be on Halloween weekend, I might not go after all, since I want to go to the campus Halloween party and, duh, NaNo starts that night. If I could write on trains and planes without getting sick, I totally would, but as it stands, I'll have to use my free time during the week to my best advantage.

My husband and I are spending three months traveling in Argentina, and while we may not be traveling every weekend, we do try to get out of the city from time to time, and in the end we're not at home so I will need to manage my travel and my NaNoWriMo experiences together. I'm going to try to stick my husband in some intensive Spanish classes in November to get him out of my hair. :)

I can't say I'm going to be traveling as much as everyone else here, but it's still traveling I guess. Despite still trying to find a job, my boyfriend and I are planning some trips between Western Mass and Upstate NY during the last few weekends of November. On November 21, it's a 2 hour trip to NY, then a 3 hour trip off to the New England Fan Experience over in Cambridge. And I'm told I'm not allowed to bring my laptop to the Con... I might just ride with it in the car though, since it will be an hour commute every day, and maybe get some writing in during lunch breaks or something. Then on the 23rd it's another 3 hour drive back to NY, and a 2 hour drive back. Fun times, let me tell you... I don't like having my boyfriend drive, but I need to get my writing in. And then of course there's always Thanksgiving, where we drive 2 hours to NY in the morning, spend it with my parents, then spend the afternoon with his family, then prolly a 2 hour drive home that night. And that's not to mention the random field trip my boyfriend wants to take to NY on, I think the 13th thru 15th of the month... 2 hours each way... I don't know how I'm going to make it...

Whenever I try writing in the car, my passengers keep screaming. I really wish they would stop, it throws off my concentration.

Yup, I'll be writing and traveling at the same time. I planned a trip to Prague from 9th of November until the 15th of November. I didn't know I would get bitten by the Nano bug back then. I don't know if I'll write a lot during that week, because I won't take my laptop with me. Maybe I'll handwrite some ideas down if there is some spare time. Oh well, we'll see.

I'll be traveling from one end of the state to the other for American Thanksgiving at the end of November, and my poor little laptop only has two and a half hours of battery life. (The trip is 7 hours long.) If I could find one of those adapters that will let you use the cigarette lighter as a power source for a plug or something, I'd probably novel the whole way down and back.

There are two kinds of adapters you can use for this. One that goes directed between the lighter port and your computer (Available at places like RadioShack), and there's also one that converts that lighter port into a wall socket port (Available at your friendly neighborhood WalMart). I use the converter constantly.
