Are you just going to keep coke by your table, or are you going to go heavy on sugary snacks? Do you have a writing prompt? Do you have lots of quotes stuck up on your wall opposite your desk? How much do you use a lamp?

I wanteth to know. Eth.

I'm bringing apple vodka, cranberry juice and my four favorite muses, the dolls. I barely use lamps but we do use the ceiling light and there will tons of music, I hope.

I'm bringing my Halloween candy to keep me on constant sugar high. Plus I'll have my pathetic plot outline and a glass of water. I use two lamps... I'm a power-waster. Hmm, what else? ...Oh, I'll have the spirit of my MIA good luck charm, Ralph (don't ask, it's a sad and weird story).

I have my 10th anniversary T-shirt (Squeal! Can wear it for the first time in five days!). And I have a shopping list of salsa, breadsticks, easy to nibble chocolate and beer. The list could grow but that's all it contains at the moment. As I'm here on November 1st and am working November 2nd (will still be writing both days though!) I won't go shopping until the 3rd.

I, too, have my 10th Anniversary T-Shirt (i keep holding it, and smelling it, and i want to wear it NOW!), I have fingerless gloves, numerous sugary snacks which I will no doubt eat before next week, lots of sachets of instant hot chocolate, my plot bunny (a super-cute pencil-warmer with a bunny on top), lots of brand new notebooks, warm slippers, soft, cosy blankets, a brand spanking new laptop (hurrah) and oodles of determination :-D

- A never ending supply of coffee
- A post-it that says "Write!"

That is all.

List will more than likely grow as the days go by

My dear beloved pencil I've used for so long.
Insane amounts of coffee and tea
Cereals
My notebook where I've attempted to build my character.

I don't think my desk is an option. I actually spend so much time at school, most of my writing will be done there. In the library if I get the chance.

Ooo, good idea, I need one of those. :)

So far, I have my notebook, a ready supply of tea, a My Little Pony called Charlie as my Nano mascot (....typing that was more shameful than I thought) and according to my boyfriend, full access to the computer in the office room. :) I do like the idea of having pictures and quotes and other things stuck on the wall to inspire me though. I suppose I have a week to find some...

Stone-I will have the vodka and Cranberry by my side too. I thought I was the only one who did that. I will also have my notebook, 100 calorie snacks, some chocolate and lots of music.

I like to keep a bowl of Frosted Flakes in front of my computer for writing. Drinks will be necessary, of course, preferably diet Sprite. I have scattered papers around my computer with notes drafted up in class, detailing plot, characters, etc. I have a calendar for my desktop saying the cumulative word count per day.

Copious amounts of iced tea
Gummi Worms
An insanely large music playlist
A mini notebook that I scribble inspiration into when I am out of the house

I still need a totem. I did this as a lark back in June with a friend of mine, and I succeeded then, so I am confident in my attempt in November. I didn't have a totem then either, but it would be kind of nice to have one. At least I have a week to think about it.

Copious amounts of chocolate, in an amazing array of forms. Some crackers, cheese and canned fruit (allergic to fresh); Oscar Mayer Fast-Franks and South Beach Chicken Caesar Wraps;
Water, Coke, Lipton Brisk Raspberry Iced Tea; MinuteMaid Pink Lemonade; lots of ice; hot chocolate mix, herbal tea bags;
NaNo 10th Anniversary t-shirt, matching soft snuggly sweater, matching snuggly socks, matching Magic Scarf of Badges, fingerless gloves;
new-ish wide-screen monitor; new speakers; new headphones; new external backup hard drive; supply of CD's and stick drives for frequent backups;
All my notes neatly organized on my computer, with shortcuts to web resources conveniently on my desktop.
NaNo mug, two NaNo posters, an assortment of NaNo stickers.
The three Muse-keteers: Trudibelle the Duck, Paulina the Plot Bunny, and Patches the NaNo-Rhino.
A whole lot of excitement, and a group of characters who promise to take this story in directions I can't even begin to imagine!

can't say i use a lamp much, but i'll be bringing my laptop, which subsequently acts as a portable lap heater, a disney 75 year anniversary mug filled with LOTS of coffee, my trusty notebook with plot idea and character charts, a pile of cds....i'm really liking the "write!" post-it idea.

speaking of, what kinds of inspirational photos would you suggest?

It'll just be me and many cups of tea. I might pick up some sweets or something during NaNo but it won't be a regular thing.

Coffee, a bag of halloween candy, rum and coke, sunflower seeds, and pizza.

Sadly, this is my main staple as a general rule, save for the candy.

There's a reason I'm fat. :P

Hey, don't be ashamed! I've got about 200 of the pastel things decorating my room. :P

-Tea. Lots of tea.
-Headphones+jazz=inspiration!
-The phrase "Hakuna Matata" posted on my wall. Of course, NaNoWriMo is going to be all about worrying about writing, but maybe having that can lessen the stress of it all.
-A crocheted turtle named 'Buddy.'

  • The tenth anniversary shirt, yippiiie :-D
  • my shirt of the memorable year 2007 (my first year of nano) for when my anniversary shirt is in the laundry
  • lots and lots of tea, and coffee for the morning
  • sandwiches with cheese/tuna/hummus
  • fresh fruit and nuts
  • lots of chocolate, and probably other candy and cookies
  • great idea, a writing totem ! and I have a cutie next to my bed who wants to sit by my laptop and be mine…I’ll just have to find out first what kind of animal he actually is and what his name is
  • my real life fat cat will also lend me a helping paw
  • also have a new ergonomic keyboard, with western décor (looks better than it sounds) :D
  • notebook, pen, No plot no problem, and the book with Nanoisms for when I need to be away from my laptop but can’t leave my obsession alone

...and probably more, it's still five days :-D

Hmm. I have a bunch of stuff I'll probably end up needing.

- Chocolate and gummies, plus assorted fruits.
- Hot chocolate and water.
- My darling laptop (which needs a new battery), a power cord, various notebooks, and pens.
- Bristol board covered in random notes pinned above my desk.
- Fuzzy slippers or extra-thick socks, comfy pants, thick and baggy sweater, hair elastic.
- My insane characters to keep talking in my head (haha).
- Free time!

Writing uses very few calories; I don't see the need to load up on food like I was crossing Donner Pass on foot. Cup of water ought to do the trick.

True, but I am not sure if I will feel like cooking, and I am not a fan of readymade tv dinners/chips/pizza all the time, so healthy snacks (and a few unhealthy ones for good measure :-D) may be the way to go. I have easy recipes with fresh veggies too but I am not sure if I am safe around a stove when I am thinking of how to make my plot work :-D Sandwiches/soup/fruit may work the best for me. *makes note to stock up on soup*

A large variety of snacks, I don't like to have a bored palette when I'm trying to be creative
My iPod, and hopefully new headphones, or maybe I can yoink the good quality ones from my mom
Some sort of sugary treat to reward myself with
My new suduko game to give my brain a break from words
My sword just because it kicks butt
And a rotating cast of furry childhood friends to keep me company

I can't write without my coffee. For Nanowrimo, it goes in my nifty Nanowrimo mug. Cookies are also a requirement (thought not all the time0, and of course my trusty Alphasmart. Those things are amazing!

Good luck, everyone!
