I need "a catch-up and determined to win" buddy!

I am behind!! But I am very determined to win and very excited about my story. I am looking for a partner to join me in this quest of writing furiously just before the end! I would really like it to be someone in China, since there is such a time difference between us and the people stuck in the USA. :-)

Who's with me?
Hubei write-in?

I decided to move my question under a new topic. So there are a few of us in Hubei this year. Are you all interested in trying to do a write-in? So far I see that there are two of you in Wuhan, so I could try to come out there one weekend. I could probably come either the 14th or the 21st. It would have to be a Saturday. I could take the bus out either Friday night or Saturday morning and write on Saturday afternoon. I'd have to take the bus back in the evening. I have a friend here too who is planning on doing nanowrimo too and she would probably come with me. I know that there are several Starbucks in Wuhan now that would probably be good places to meet or someone else may know a better place.
Shanghai

Are there any Shanghai people this year? I know that there were a few in 2008. I'm going to try to do NaNoWriMo this year, but it might be hard because I'm taking AP classes >.<

I live in Xuhui district at the moment. I think those in Shanghai used to meet in Xintiandi. Is it the same this year?
Beijing Haidian Students Unite!

So, my fellow Haidian and WDK friends, this is where we plot against the rest of Beijing and plan our fun and cozy write-ins in our neck of the very large woods that is Beijing. Can you tell it's November? My sentences are getting run-on-y and nonsensical, but highly wordy. Yay!

I am going to be inhabiting various cafes of Wudaokou for most of the month, since I get nothing done at home. Others are welcome, even encouraged, to join me. Is there a time that's good for everyone else? Or a non-WDK but still Haidian area that would be conducive to frantic novelling? These things, I need to know! I personally enjoy Sculpting in Time, mostly b/c the top floor has that cool mat thing you can sit on. And it's a nice view by day. Of course, there's also the Bridge, Coffee Bean, the Hump, and others I haven't even thought of.

Since I was at Waiting for Godot on Sunday (a little too drafty for my tastes) and saw no one, mostly since I was novelling by hand and thus did not have my laptop to check and see that others were there, I vote whoever comes to these things make a sign (small one) for WriMos to be aware of where their fellow crazy people are at.

Conclusion: Wednesday Nov 4. Sculpting in Time, 4th floor, WDK. 4 PM- 9PM. Be there. If you want, I'll even wear my cunning Jayne Cobb hat.

Love and High Wordcounts,
What kind of novel are you writing?

So what is everyone writing about? Mine is going to be a fantasy this year and it is a follow up to two other stories I have already written.
Write-in right in the centre of Beijing?

Hi fellow Beijing NaNoWriMo'ers! Quick introduction. I'm Dylan and I'll be writing my first novel (hopefully) this November. I'm a little worried over whether I can hack it, since my job involves me sitting in front of computer and translating all day. I'm a big believer that submitting to peer pressure is almost always the right choice. As to my novel, it's not like I'm ungrateful for all the financial support that it's various government departments have given me over the years, but I'm writing a sort of thought experiment/politico-literary-esque novel in which Canada crumbles apart at the seams. I also like hyphens.

Anyway, there was a point of this post and it's arriving. It'd be great to meet up with some other writers and organize some writing-together-a-ma-bobs with anyone else doing NaNoWriMo in the Jing, keep in each other on track.

I observe from other threads that in the past some groups organized around Haidian, which is... far away from where people that aren't students live. Maybe y'all'd be interested in meeting up around that vast district in the middle of the city named Dongcheng? Like... Cafe Zarah or one of the billion odd cozy bars/cafes just-like-it-but-not-as-good scattered across Dongcheng... or alternatively if anyone knows the owners of Bookworm, that would a hilariously appropriate (and awesome of own accord) place.

Suggestions, thoughts?

I'm thinking of a kick-off meeting on November 1st. It's a Sunday this year. Perfect for an afternoon of literary debauchery just as our Halloween hangovers start to fade. Who's in?
QQ

Now, I'm not exactly sure how QQ works (I have one but I hardly sign on) but I was thinking, if we could figure it out, we could do chats in QQ, or AIM, depending how many people have which. I just suppose probably most people have QQ if they teach, right?

Anyway, my QQ number is: 1247020712

if you want to add me :]
