Here we are, our very own MindTweaking group for NaNo, where we'll strive to maintain sanity, creativity, and general brain boosting.
Wondering what MindTweakers are?
A group of friendly, supportive, creative and (mostly) sane folks from the MindTweaks blog ( http://www.mindtweaks.com ) who are interested in keeping our brains from flat lining during NaNo.
Come on in, say hello, and pick up a few tips on brain-health-and-function, while you're at it!

Rah! RAH! Rah! Go Deaux Go!
Hi there T, long time no see or hear from... :)
Wishing you all the imagination and creativity your brain can handle for the month of Nov! Lost myself and I think my canoe tipped over in the lake. Once I set it upright I'll fix my hair and begin to write again. Hope you are well. Happy Birthday to you M.T.

Glad you're here, Pun!

I didn't know it was your birthday. Happy Birthday. I have a title and characters. But I've just decided to go with a theme that I've been journalling about and if it doesnt end up in a story then maybe I've created some new brain circuitry to make a change about my life.

I got this figured out into manageable bits. 50,000 words is only 1500 words per day. And I journal every day so I've allowed myself for this to be my journalling. I usually write about 1000 words a day in my journal so if I add on 500 more words.... I also know it takes me about 50 minutes to write in my journal each day so.... 50,000 seemed to daunting but 1500 a day ismanageable. I just sit down and write and I time myself like Nancy Goldberg suggested. One hour. okay is this all too anal?

Thank you all for the birthday wishes! I somehow survived the evening with my family, in spite of their efforts to stress me into an early grave. This year did not bring a gift to rival the black rabbit fur covered FiFi The Possessed Poodle of last year - but instead my grandmother decided to give me a... table. It's a lovely table, it's true. But it's not exactly the sort of gift one expects to have sprung on them in the parking lot of a Tex-Mex restaurant.
Ah well, at least I kept them from bringing it IN to the restaurant this time!
Ms. Whizmo, no no, you're not being too anal about it at all : ) In fact, there's an official daily wordcount target of 1667. You're doing great!
I, on the other hand, am in one of my funks, and am about hitch my Inner Donkey up to the keyboard and just let him plow the entire story line under.
Hrrmph!
;)

BTW, I've been going against nearly all the brain-health advice stuff so far.... but the one area I've been good with is snacks : )
Almonds, strawberries, blueberry pomegranate juice, and dark chocolate covered pomegranate bits. Yum! Research has shown they're all really good for the brain. I don't know if I'm having enough of any of the above to make a difference yet (Because I'm too lazy to go look it up just now) but at the least, they're healthy snacks with the potential to be really beneficial and I'm getting in the habit of buying and eating them.
That's good, right?

Ah, now the suggestion of a truck to transport the gift makes sense... but are you sure she didn't mean the table as a ginormous pedestal to display FiFi, the Poodle from Hell??? *snicker*

A poodle on a pedestal! The mind boggles with the possibilities.
On another note, I suck at this year's NaNo attempt.
No, seriously, I do.
I blame it on FiFi.
