Welcome to Part II of the ultimate challenge! Writing a total of 10,000 words or more in just five hours.

Difficult? Sure. Impossible? No way!

Here's how it works:

1. Come here and post your expected start and finish time.
2. Write!
3. Come back and post your total (even if you didn't finish or didn't hit your target)
4. Get added to the Wall of Awesomeness (TM)

Added bonus: bragging rights (I can write 10,000 words in five hours, can you?)
Added added bonus: this is a great way to increase your Nano word count quickly!

Without further ado (and correct as of 07/11; 10:00 GMT)

crap, my son just woke up, and his mommy is still asleep, now I'm gonna be way off track. I fail for now. I've got a stop watch running though, so I'll just figure out a total of 5 hours and see how much I've written.

I will start at 7:30 pm (GMT +1) and finish at 12:30 am.

EDIT: Starting Word Count: 40952

It seems like an excellent way to catch up to where I ought to be, give or take a day's word count (especially since I'm starting all over!).

Ok, after having to restart a couple times, i threatened everyone not to disturb me tonight (or else i would use them in my novel and probably throw them in a prison in the middle of no-where...).

Start: 8:00 PM

Can't stare at the screen anymore. Two and a half hours--4,514 words. I'm back on schedule, at least!

I, despite the fact that I will never, ever actually reach 10,000 words, am attempting this ill-advised quest.

5:15-10:15 PM for me.

I'm sick and have gotten absolutely nothing done all day, so here's a chance to ignore my headache and do something hopefully awesome.

12,139! I fell asleep right afterwards, but I managed to get it done this time. I was actually going a lot slower this time. I blame the anticipation. This took me over 50,000 words though, so thank you!

One hour and a mere 1,000 words later, my headache has simply become too great for even Nanowrimo to fix.

I'm definitely backing out this time, but sometime this month I WILL complete the ultimate word war!

Since work interfered with my plans to attempt the sprint earlier in the week, I'm going to give it a go now: 8:05 p.m. to 1:05 a.m.

I'm going to start this at 9:40.

I'll come back and post when I'm finished, I need a good kick in the pants to get my word count up so hopefully this will do it. And Hopefully I'll get to 10K... or closer at least this time.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? Doubt I'll get a full 5 hours, but I badly need 10k.
3:20am (start): count was 5345.

I tried this morning (posted about it in the old thread) and only got through two hours for a total of 2,552 words. Maybe I'll try again when I'm not so tired, but I just don't think I can type quite that fast.

Don't think I'm going to make it tonight, but this thread did spurn me to write just over 5300 words in three hours. I'm grateful for that and will undoubtedly try again before the month is out!

Blah, I made it from 10 to 12. Too tired to go on. But in two hours, I got 5k words, so I'm satisfied. Next time, I'll get to 10k for sure! Maybe I'll try again tomorrow.

Time to get well rested and try again tomorrow.

This is going to be tougher than I thought.
