It looks like a friendly rivalry has started among the top 6-7-ish regions on the Global Word Count Scoreboard.
In fact, there's even been bragging about surpassing Chicago and other regions invading with their word-war-iness.
I say we challenge them all - and try to come out in the top three this year. We may not be able to beat powerhouse Seattle - but I say everyone else is fair game.
I'm asking everyone in the Chicago region - signed up for a word war or otherwise - make Chicago proud globally for the second time this month. Get your write on and let's throw down the gauntlet against these other regions who think they can bring us down!
We may be number six tonight, but I say we show them we're not out of the game!

(Seeing I am crawling up from the bottom, I am the expert LOL) I think we should go for it. Those regions are going to talk about us with OR without are participation so we may as well participate and kick some a@#! And this will give those who are a week behind (yeah, me) or those who must type in their sleep, like a crimson person out there, something to unite and fight for!

To purloin and twist part of a famous speech, for my own nefarious end:
We shall write on to the end . . . we shall write on the seas and oceans, we shall write with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our region, whatever the cost may be, we shall write on the beaches, we shall write on the landing grounds, we shall write in the fields and in the streets, we shall write in the hills; we shall never surrender. . . .
Hopefully the great, Sir Winston Churchill’s ghost has a sense of humor, or I shall no doubt be in for a sound spectral thrashing in the near future.

Psh, what does LA have that we don't? We can so do this! No more sleeping on the train for me -- it's just gonna be write write write. I might even sneak away for a lunch break tomorrow to write.
New Zealand's goin' down! LA is going down! Heck, Holland & Belgium are going down!
Sweet dreams!

Hey, I've got plenty of ideas, but sucky little things like life. If anyone can figure out how I can type and run the light board at Corn at the same time I could easily get a bunch more words :) because my characters certainly aren't shutting up any time soon.
But yes, let's kick those other regions' butts!!!! We're Chicago, we're AWESOME!

I have been checking the scoreboard every day. I was so mad when LA surpassed us.
We gotta take that spot back! ... And then we gotta take the other four spots. :D

Let's get writing, people!!! We can totally do this. My friend in Seattle has been gloating about their domination, and her word total is WAY lower than it should be at this point. Just because they have more participants does not mean they should win. Let's get our #5 spot back and then keep moving up!

Can we do this Chicago? Oh yes.
Man, I am bummed to learn we have fallen behind LA. We HAVE to at least catch them up again. I'll be getting back to writing now...I know, I am one of the guilty parties, but not for long! FEAR MY WRATH!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I keep checking each day. The margins between us and LA are getting closer so we bound to get the 5 spot especially if everyone keeps pegging away. We can do it. I know I am a bit behind but I am slowly catching up. I was hoping to get up to 30,000 words this weekend but I think I will be getting close to 20,000 I hope.
