To those of you who've been motivating me along, and with apologies to those who haven't a clue what I'm on about....
My CT scan results were supposed to come through in around two weeks but I have had a call today as a large mass is showing up on my scan pictures. We don't know what it might be; what is self-evident is that I am now facing a fourth bout of major surgery, my second in less than six months.
I don't know if I can finish Nano - probably not. But it has helped me to get through these last awful weeks and I am truly grateful for that. I shall try and keep going but not today.
If those of you who believe in vibes and prayers would be kind enough to send some my way, I would be truly grateful.

Oh, sweetheart.
It sounds like this has been just about a shit year for everyone, doesn't it? My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this year, and went through her chemo regimen until September - she's doing much better now, but it was so hard to be so far away. My little brother was killed at the end of October, which sent me from teetering on the verge of "should I/shouldn't I" to jumping into Nano headfirst to bring me motivation, a distraction, a sense of community and the joy that comes with writing.
Not telling you this to bring you down, but merely to explain that I've had a lot of prayers sent my way this year - both from this community and many others. I've got a whole bag left over, and they are on their way to you.
You may not finish this year's count. Then again, you might - looks like you're darned close as is. But you have all the love, strength and support of this very large, very loud community behind you. Those obnoxious sounds? Are us cheering you on.
Please, please, please keep us updated. And if you want to talk ever, don't hesitate to send me a PM.
Love, light and laughter,

I pray that you will be heal and healthy once again, I was given news of a tumor but I have used that information to move me forward, it's now more important than ever to put down what I have to say, whether it's regret, happiness, funny or just how silly life may be.
So in between your prayers and sadness, say to yourself I've got something to do, "I've got to finish this race" and something profound might just come out. May the length of your days be far extended past the end of your novel. Keep writing!! we're all pulling for you.

I just said a prayer for you and I am sending a ton of virtual hugs your way. For you to have written more than 30K with suspicion of this weighing on your shoulders is amazing. The CT is very clear that the mass is there, but it could be anything from more surgical adhesions, to that which we all fear.
No way to know, just yet.
But I am feeling much more positive after a long chat with my doctor and am prepared to just take each day as it comes.
Thank you so much for all the messages. I am still trying to write a chapter that makes sense, but I haven't given up, thanks to you all!
