Is this the home for Guelphites as well? It's certainly much close than the "Everywhere Else" ...

I know I'm a bit early, what with it only being the second of October but I thought I'd throw this out there for when the others start filing in :P

Hi Liadan, you are not alone. :)

You and other Guelphites are very welcome to come out to our Launch Party and other events if it's not too far for you; we'd love to have you! I think there's generally a thread on the Elsewhere board for Guelph area Nano writers, so events get organized that are a little more local for you too. Do whatever is easiest for you, but don't write alone! :) I'll look for you at our events.

Last year Guelph had an active thread in the Ontario::Elsewhere forum and also its own blog at http://guelphwrimos.blogspot.com/
We had 34 participants in Guelph and write-ins in town once or twice per week during NaNo.

(The blog was set up by me -- and I'm not in Guelph anymore -- but I'm looking for a current Guelph Wrimo to take over its administration so you folks will still have the resource available to you.)

Ahkay, I'm waiting for the Guelph thread to pop up, haha. I would offer to take it over for you but I'm spending the first half of NaNo moving cross-country from BC so I wouldn't even be in the city, haha.

If. closer to November, no one takes over, I may reconsider, heehee.

I'm glad that Guelph has a more active community because the city I am in right now is pretty dead for other Wrimos. It got awfully lonely last year.

I'm a commuter to Guelph - I work at the university typically 4 days a week, but live in Oakville. I would definitely be interested in meeting up with other people in Guelph for coffee and/or writing sessions :)

Hallo to Guelph!

Liadan, Daeja (and anyone else just tuning in) - Guelph does indeed have a spot in the "Elsewhere" forum, but typically overflows here as well. ;)

I'll probably be organizing a weekly write-in or some such for us in Guelph this year, as we did last year. I also try to get out to at least one of the K/W/C events as well, to keep in touch with our fellow NaNoers in the neighbouring cities; if you're interested in that sort of thing I'm sure we could arrange a carpool. However it works out, I hope to see you in November!

Just another one checking in. I'll pop over to the other thread when it starts too. :)

Hello all! First off, I'm a NaNo virgin here, so I'm really looking forward to all the stress in the up coming month. Second, for you Guelphites out there, add another to the list, 'cause I'm born and raised! I love the fact that I'm a part of a group that finds people in my own back yard and half way around the world. It's great to be a part of something huge and intimate at the same time.

Hey anyone from Guelph, you're in my hometown! I used to live there, but about 6 years ago I moved to Cambridge, actually Nov. 13 is the anniversary of my move here, I miss it a lot, what's going on there? Any new crazy developments? Has the mafia left or is that a false rumor? ha ha :)

Keep it strong, Guelph rocks!

Hi everyone!

My name is Cindy. Even though it says I joined August 2008 this is my first actual NaNo. I didn't get very far last year because life kind of took over. I'm hoping to do much better this year. I've been practicing on an older manuscript that I never finished by writing every day on that. I use a random number generator to tell me how many words I need to write and up the minimum every week to get me ready for NaNo. I can't wait to start my NaNo book!

I live in Milton but I'm moving to Guelph. I'm in Guelph five nights a week (Thursday to Monday). I run a writing group in Guelph.

I hope to see some of you at the events.

Cindy
