Any Chico students here?

Hello Shadowbright! We typically have a pretty wide age range among our Nano writers here in Chico. We usually have write-ins at a cafe in downtown Chico on the weekends, and at least one evening a week as well, not always downtown. Stay posted to this area for upcoming events! We'd love to have you join in.

Haha, define "ready." I have a few meandering ideas, but nothing solid. :\ Oh well, I'm sure I'll be properly inspired once it actually gets cloudier. I'm still pretty excited. What about you?

Any cool writing places on campus? I've been in the library briefly and it seems nice, but I'm still getting situated around here (yay, freshman), so I don't know about any hidden spots with wifi.

Well, the BMU gets good wifi. Actually, the entire campus is considered as a hotspot for wifi. What are you writing about? I'm trying to get the Orion to do a story about NaNoWriMo for one of the November issues.

Good thought. The BMU is comfortable. I'm unsure about the wifi. Do you have to be a student at CSUC to use the wifi or have they opened it up?

You have to be a student, unfortunately. But, if any students want to join me for a writing session during the week, I'm sure we can get together at the BMU and hang out for a while!

I'd definitely be up for a writing session during the week! It sounds exciting. I've never met anyone else doing NaNoWriMo. Oh, I'll be writing some sort of fantasy something. On the way home from picking up a package at Whitney I was struck by the idea of doing a ghost story in a small town, but I haven't really fleshed it out. I'll be working on it for a few days.

I think getting the Orion to cover NaNoWriMo is a really good idea, by the way.

What are you writing about?

I'm actually writing a fantasy story as well. Well, technically rewriting my fantasy novel but there are so many changes that it's basically a new novel. It's kind of in the steampunk genre. When would you like to meet up?

Steampunk? How cool! I've always thought steampunk was really interesting, but I've never really read any of it. Always wanted to, though.

Well, class for me lasts from 9-12:30 pm, Mon-Thursday. On Friday it lasts until 4 pm, and on Monday I also have class at 7 pm. I'm game for any time you want to meet up! I don't have much going on outside of class.

Another student here! I'm so very excited about this, because I didn't realize there was a Chico chapter. But now that I know there is, I'm thrilled! I'm not 100% sure how this works, so if there are any events comming up, I'd love to participate!

Well hi! Good to have another student. Just so you know, we're going to be meeting twice a week, sundays and wednesdays, for write-ins and such. Once Lynn gets the calendar working, you'll be able to see all of the events. Then I'm going to try and work something out for students that want to meet in the BMU or something and do a write-in during the week. When are you available during the school week to do some writing?

Hi! I am another Chico student and I would love to get together for some writing. I am planning on writing a fantasy novel as well. I am influenced by Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. My idea currently is a mix of Dr. Faustus and Dr. Who. I am so excited about November!

Hey, I'm super excited for the upcoming month, and I was wondering if we still were going to set up a write-in on campus. That would be ideal considering 8:00 is not in my vocabulary as a college student, and it would be nice to keep up the work. Let me know. :)

Hello Chico Students! So, as for write-ins I was going to be on campus on Tuesdays in the BMU, 3-6 this week, doing my own write in, so you can feel free to join me. (If we all show up and the BMU is too crowded, we could always move to the library). Also, I'll be in the BMU from 2-4 doing a write in on Wednesday. And, maybe Friday (if anyone wants) we could do a long write-in earlier on in the day. Suggestions? I'm also willing to stay after class on Monday and Wednesday, after 5, if anyone wants to do a write-in then.
