Hello, Fort Lauderdale! I'm your new Municipal Liason. Before November 1 I'll be giving you information on write-ins - where they will be and when, and the goodies you can get for showing up. I look forward to meeting the Wrimos in the area and hope we all have a successful November.

Considering I live in Coral Springs, the Border's Plantation is the closest for me, too . . . I need to get in touch with someone there just to touch base.

We can do this!

i used to work there, i know all the managers and such still. it shouldn't be a problem to have a meeting there weekly.

Hi Jodi and other Broward folks,

We may be ML-less in Palm Beach County again this year, but on behalf of our region, I'd like to informally propose again what we did last year - a friendly word count competition (word-war sounds too violent) between our two regions. Palm Beach came out a little behind last time, but it was a close race all month, and I think (hope) that it motivated some of us in both regions to meet our word count goals. So what do you say, are you guys up for it?

Chris

Hey Broward people!!! I got my Nano email a few days back and realized I wasn't in the right region. So, now here I am in the proper place and so I just posted to say Hey and can't wait for November.

I have considered NanoWrimo in the past, but never had time. I have a work in progress but I am only 10% done and new almost daily writing habit. Would love to have insipriation to crank out 50K words of it in a month? Is it kosher to keep going on this BUT only count the words I write in November towards Nano? Or does it have to be a brand new book, start to wherever?

TECHNICALLY, it's supposed to be a brand new thing you start on November 1.

(But I won't tell if you won't . . . )

Chilly here checking in with the crew! Better late than never. I'm new to NaNo this year and scared to death but going to do this. I love starbucks or any place near starbucks but I'll write any place. Any general advice for the new kid I'm up for it.

I would love to attend the write-ins. Wanted to last year, but had no time. and the worst thing possible that could happen to a budding writer happened to me. My comp crashed and the jump drive with my novel caught a virus. All was lost. And I have been having a hard time getting back into the swing of things.

I live in Sunrise, so I'm pretty much willing to drive anywhere for a meet up. I didn't attend any last year, but I think I'm willing to give it a try.

@Jodi, are you a teacher, by any chance?

Good to see so many people coming out of the woodwork! I'm thinking Borders out by Sawgrass for the official write-ins, probably Sunday afternoons. We may try others during the week but I know I'll be around every Sunday in November!

And yes, nogirls, I'm a teacher.

Hey everybody,

I'm a newbie here as well. I've been trying to crank out a novel for a while now but just can't seem to get it done. I found this website and thought it would be a pretty cool thing to try. I have a website I've been working on that I hope to have running before November so that people can follow along there. I'm also trying to rope a few friends into joinging as well. I know I have at least one person that's down so yay! I didn't know that write-ins were part of the deal but now that has me even more excited. I can't wait!

I only ask, Sleekwriter, because I'm pretty sure you taught at my old high school :D I never actually had you as a teacher, but I'm nearly positive you ran the Literary Magazine during my senior year (2008), to which I submitted a wide variety of photos. If you don't remember me, it's quite alright, but I look forward to working with you, regardless!
