Wheee, pretty new forums! How about some (re-)introductions?

I'm Kat, and I've been around since 2001, although I took last year off because of some personal stuff. I'm very excited to be back, though! I now live and work in Merrimack. In my non-writing time, I read, knit, cook, and watch too much TV.

Who else is around so far?

Sounds good to me! And hooray, another knitter!

I'm Aubrey, 28 years old, and new to this area this year. I moved here about 5 months ago from northern Indiana, and I'm looking forward to nano this year! I've been doing Nano since 2002, but I've only won in 2003, 2006, and 2008. I'm hoping for another win this year! I work as a web developer and I like to code, knit, spin my own yarn, write (obviously), drink beer, and meet new people.

I live up in Portsmouth, but I'm willing to drive up to 45 minutes to an hour away to meet up with other writers. I hope there's a lot of meetups in this area! I look forward to meeting more of you.

Hi, I'm Caroline
I live in Manchester and work in Portsmouth.
This will be my third attempt at NaNo, and hopefully my third success!
My daughter joined in last year as well, and might do so again this year.

Ooh, a knitter? I'm a knitter too!

I'm Liz, I'm a published author but can always use more inspiration (i.e., a kick in the pants) to get more writing done. Especially this year, I've been in somewhat of a slump. I also work as an editor for individuals and several small publishers, and I teach how-to writing courses for Writer's Digest. (So you'd think it would be easy for me to write 50,000 words in a month, right? Hah!)

I live in Greenville, and if anything could be set up in Greenville, Wilton, or Milford, that would be great. I can drive a little farther also if it's daytime, but my night vision's not the best, so prefer not to drive far at night.

Looking forward to writing with you all.

Liz

Looks like there's lots of fiber folks here this year! Yay!

Another knitter/crocheter is me :)

Hello all! I'm Caitirin, also the ML for New Hampshire. If you're new and don't know what an ML is, it stands for Municipal Liaison. Also known as regional coordinator and/or the local person who can help you answer questions and give you tips and tricks to help you succeed at this novel writing thing!

I live in Dover and I work in Durham at UNH. I'm starting to get some write-ins organized for the seacoast area. I would be SO happy to have some help from other wrimos in getting things together for some write ins elsewhere.

Live near Manchester, Concord, or places north? Please let me know if you're thinking of organizing a write in. I'll add things to the calendar and help you out as much as I possibly can. Up to and including sending you some stickers and goodies to hand out.

Oooh, Caitirin, you're at UNH? Me too!

So my home region's listed as Maine, because that's where my mom lives and where I go when I'm not at school. But for purposes of NaNo, I'll be here in NH for almost the whole month. So I hope you'll pardon the crossover. *winks*

I'm definitely looking forward to an awesome month!

First of the youngins here, eh? I'm Marianne, the seventeen (eighteen by NaNo)-year-old New Hampshireite. I go to school down in Nashua, but my soul stays in the north country. Gotta love those mountains. I've done NaNo since 2007 and won. Now that college applications have reared their ugly heads, it's gonna take an extra dose of crazy to get me through NaNo 2009. I'm hoping to study Creative Writing/Environmental Science at UMaine Farmington next year, so I'm crossing my fingers for the writing portfolio!

Sorry to break the chain of knitters, but I'm a nature photography buff. I love the outdoors and wildlife of all kinds (besides mosquitoes and spiders), and thus will hand-write my NaNo novel every year. I'm one of those loonies who can't write on the computer.

Hey You guys! ^^
I'm 17 years old (so a jr. in high school).
I tried to do NaNo back in 2007 but failed (miserably xD) but luckily, I won last year's. Let's all hope we do well this year too! As for what I do... I'm a student xD I was considering getting a job at a candy store though... I might, I might not.

When I'm not writing, I love drawing :) I'm also in Girl Scouts and do a lot of artsy things. (I wish I could knit all you knitters! :P )

As far as meeting goes, I think I'm fine with anything in the lower part of the state (I can't even drive yet xD ) You guys seem really nice, it would be great to meet you :)

Despite my scarcity on the boards the last few years, I've been at NaNo since 2003, winning each time, though building more and more of a backlog of not-quite-finished novels in my wake. Yes, hit 50k each time, no have yet to actually finish any of the stoylines, although I have given it a shot with a few of them.
Who am I? Such a deep question so early in the conversation. How promising.
I am currently working as an innkeeper, and hope to get back to my seasonal job right about the start of NaNo, and score some test papers from you whippersnappers who are still in highscool. I also paint, create costumes and act in stage plays and renfaires, juggle ( a bit) and am teaching myself Mandarin Chinese, Calculus and Robotics from books and online resources, mostly. My degree's in biology, and while I'd love to get my masters and doctorate there, I'd also go for physics or engineering.
I hope someday to build a house which relies on the established grids and resources only for the interwebs.
I'm also a gamer- Dungeons and Dragons, mostly, and a martial artist, with a black belt in Chinese Kempo Karate, green belt in Tae Kwon Do and some class time in Tang Soo Do as well as, again, many books. (My apt is basically piles of books, old computers and cloth/ costumes.) If you have any questions or need help vetting an idea for a scene/ character/ story regarding any of the above, or have a "What would he do then!?!" type question related to any of the above, feel free to ask.

Hello, all! :)

I'm Kate, a Manchester resident and newbie to Nano. I've been considering taking on this challenge for a year or two now, and I finally decided a few days ago to just sign up and commit. I'm 17, a senior in high school, and I'm currently working on my first two novels (insane, I know! ;)). I'll be turning 18 toward the end of November, but my early decision application to Brown is due on the first of the month. SO, I should be a bit less busy once the Nano excitement gets going, even though my two English teachers (I'm taking Creative Writing and World Literature) never seem to get tired of assigning three papers a week.

Fun facts: I'm a big fan of all things fantasy and sci-fi, and I'm a huge sucker for zombie-related things. I'm currently on the fence about what I will be focusing on in college, but I've narrowed my options down to English and art. I paint murals and do other art projects for some extra cash, and in the future I hope to find success writing and illustrating my own work.

I'm really looking forward to writing like mad, and it's awesome to see how many other NH natives are involved around here. :) Best of luck to you all!

Hey everyone,

I'm from Nashua, lived there my whole life. This is my second year doing NaNo, and I'm really looking forward to this year. However I'm not actually in/ NH this year for NaNo, well I will be over the Thanksgiving holiday, but I'm off at college right now. I'm not too far away though, I'm only over in Vermont, so I'll probably be home a bit during NaNo.

I wish I could get over to the seacoast for the kickoff, but Putney is just too far away. And besides, I'm going to an Anime Convention that day so I'm going to be busy anyways, that doesn't mean I'm not staying up until 12:01am to start my Novel on Nov 1, I am, but I'm going to be out all through the day, but I think that's a good way to get ready for NaNo, I'll be all hyper that night and get stuff done.

Ohh pretty new website! So happy!

Checking in from Exeter, I'm Anna on the boards. My sister got me hooked on NaNo back in 2007, and I've been a writer ever since. Nothing published, lots written, mostly crap. ~_^

I'm a mother of four, all getting older and more independent (thank gawd). I'm a crocheter not a knitter, I sketch a lot, read a lot and don't write nearly as much as I probably should.

I'm looking forward to another crazy November and hope to see you all at the write-ins!

Hi everyone! My name is Calli, I'm 26 and I just moved to Dover from Sacramento last year. I've done NaNo since 2005, and I'm really looking forward to this year. <3

EDIT: Gawd, I suck at bio type stuff. I draw, write, and read. I also posses knitting lust and knowledge (can you live here and not?) but not, sadly, the ability. Hurt my arm last winter learning to knit and it's never been the same. :/

Hi, hi, everybody! I'm Kat! I've been doing Nano since 2006, and I'm so psyched for another year! I never seem to make it to any parties or write-ins, but I'm hoping to change that this year, and look forward to meeting some of my fellow writers!

(Wow, that was a lot of exclamation points...)

Anyways, a little about me for those of you who don't know... I live in North Conway, where it is currently very rainy but very beautiful. I'm still having a hard time grasping the fact that I'm 26 years old because I'm a high school teacher, which means that I exist in a state of voluntary adolescence. In the words of my students, it's pretty much awesome. And epic. In the spare time I deluded myself into thinking I had, I've been working toward an M.Ed at Plymouth State, and- guess what!- I'll be graduating in May (WOOT!!!)

Also, have to give a shout out to my alma mater, Colby-Sawyer. I hope there are some CSC Wrimos out there this year!

Hi! I'm Heather, and I'm back for my second year ever at Nano-ing. (Wish me luck folks. I actually pulled it off last year!)
I won't give my location because my Husband and I are looking to get a house (Which should have an interesting effect on my nano-ing) And also I'm going to be a first time mom in January. (I'm 29.)
Last year I was working full time, but this year I'm not, though with the advent of "Nightgaunt Junior", I'm not so upset as I could be.
I'm a knitter and an roleplayer, though I haven't been actively gaming for a while due to the hectic house hunting. I do some D and D, some Starwars, and the previous generation of "White Wolf" ((Sorry for fans, I really don't like the current re-write of that system. :p))
I'm also an avid reader, which is helping save my sanity, and I've started clawing my way through the "Repairman Jack" books. So far I'm debating if I'll do a second half to last years Nano, or do a new one.

Hi! I'm Briana, and I've been around since 2005, I think, though I've only actually participated three times. I'm not actually in NH now because I'm at school in Indiana, but NH is still home. November is always a highlight for me and I can't wait to get writing!

Ken

third nano I think, I do multiple novel starts each year and I usually get 50k on each, I just don't remember if I have more then four and how many years that's spread over. I do script frenzy too so that skews things a bit.

I'm older than twenty eight, that much I know, but the exact age is hard to remember. I pack so much into my life that sometimes I live a year in a month.

I am currently employed at Southern NH Uni. and while I'm residing in manchester, I will be moving this month. It's a whole mess of conveluted and confusing. As people I thought were strange but tolerable became psychotic and dangerous. People I thought were nice turned flighty and unreliable. And people I thought were dependable turned out to be self intrested and willing to kick me aside to make a bit more in profits (that last one is a certain employer).

So I'm a little wounded, and frantically busy. I'm also sans computer and thus use the computer labs right now. Hoping to change that before nano but that was the hope last year... and I got both ripped off and a late start last time.

I'm game for a meet up in Manchester or Concord.

Oh and I grew up just down the road from colby sawyer college.

I'm Nikki. Surprised as always that November is just around the corner already! This is my ninth year, and for the first time I'll be working full time while writing a novel. How do you folks DO that?

In the summer I'm a gardener, jam and jelly-maker, and vegetable freezer. The rest of the year I knit, crochet, and cross-stitch. Lots of that this winter, since my first grandchild is due in April! All year, of course, I write. Looking forward to the fun and frenzy again next month.

A name I recognize! Hi Liz, my name is Paula, and I'm pretty sure I took one of your courses when Barnes and Noble had them online. I actually live in Maine, but hang out in both the ME & NH regions since I actually live in the southernmost tip on the border of NH. So I won't be seeing you as you are too far away from me, but just wanted to say hi to a familiar name. Have fun writing and good luck.

Hi, I'm Paula, and I actually live in Maine, but the southernmost tip that borders NH, so I am physically closer to most NH locations than the Maine locations -- so I'm a crossover necessitated by location. I have a full time job in transcription and part time as a massage therapist and martial arts instructor. In my "spare" time, ha ha, I like to exercise, read like a Maniac, and do fabric art, and participate in crazy things like this. Good luck to everyone!

Hey there, I'm Lufia. =D I'd rather not give out my real name (though someone else here has it!) but I can assure you that my age is over nine thousand, I'm a girl, and I'm eager to do NaNo for the first time this year! I live around southern NH, again not saying where, but I'm an aspiring writer/artist/programmer/whatever I happen to be obsessing about for the time being.

Interests? Uh..cats, being a nerd, annoying others, messing with video games and the previously mentioned writing/drawing/programming. I do NOT knit or crochet (silly rebellious me! D'ohohoho.) I probably won't make it to any of the NaNo get-togethers, but I'll be sure to pay attention to what's going on around here. C:

So, I'm Kerry and I live in Nashua =)
Last year was the first time I ever tried Nano and I failed rather abysmally so I'm hoping this year goes better. My plot is on its way to being semi-developed (a.k.a. all I've decided so far is the genre XD), which is actually a step better from last year when I heard about Nano about a week before it started so I didn't really do any planning at all.

But anyway. When not writing I read a lot, love to cook (when my mum lets me anywhere near the kitchen), watching TV, colorguard (flag-twirling with the marching band<3) and watching football.

Oh, and just throwing it out there, for any other people in Nashua, I'm willing to help plan both a kick-off and any meeting times and places within the month.

Hi all, I'm Terri and glad to be back. This is my favorite time of year, fall and Nano. Last year I spent time writing at the Starbucks in Epping (Hi Anna and Ashley!) and it really helped me get my 50k. I, like someone else mentioned below, have a huge backlog of unedited manuscripts. But I think I'm making headway in that department this year. I took a couple of classes online at Gotham so I'm getting used to critiquing and editing. I can't wait to get started, new ideas are always way more fun to write then editing some old beat up ideas.

Hi, Paula! Good to see you here. It's very possible you were in one of my B&N classes. Those things attracted hundreds of people, so it was tough to keep track. ;-) I wish you the best of luck with NaNoWriMo, and if you decide to come to a get-together, or you want to set one up with me, I'm in southern New Hampshire. We could meet halfway between somewhere?

Hi!

I'm Cat. Technically, though, I'm no longer a NH writer (I am so gonna miss you all), though I did Nano in NH for 6 years (jesh, has it really been that long?). & You'll probably still see me lurking around b/c this is the board that all my friends are on. I'm currently in FL and enjoying the warm weather and lack of fluffy white stuff. My last nano was a complete mess b/c I was in FL part of Nov, and playing catchup at work and trying to find an apartment and I believe I changed topics 3-4 times before picking something that I could actually write on. I'm hoping to work on a new story this year, except that I have to finish the one I'm working on first >.<

Anywho, good luck to you all and let's have some fun.

Hi, everyone! I'm Emily from Pelham (near Salem, fo those of you who don't know where that is). I appear to be the youngest so far--I'm sixteen and a junior in high school. I did NaNo last year and won, yay. No ideas yet for this one, though.

I'm going to be pretty busy during November (thank you, Honors College Prep Bio), but I'd really love to go to an event or two close to home; I didn't go to any last year. So if anyone wants to plan something in the Salem/Nashua area, let me know!

Hm, non-noveling interests. Let's see. School occupies a lot of my time (I don't really mind, I'm smart and like learning, so it's all good). I like volunteering at my library, tutoring my friends, going to Creative Writing Club (I'm going to try to recruit some of my friends from the club to do NaNo, so yay!)... oh, and I'm currently taking a beginning American Sign Language course with my mom.

Emily

After Nano is done, there's always time to teach you how to knit :) I'm not too bad at getting people into knitting and crochet! *laughs* I hooked a bunch of my friends when I got started.

Also... YAY for Girl Scouts! I was in for 13 years! All the way through Seniors :)

Sounds like fun! :)
Then it sounds like you'll get me hooked xD

Really? That's awesome! :) (i think it's actually my 13th year! :D )

I wish I could get over to the seacoast for the kickoff, but Putney is just too far away. And besides, I'm going to an Anime Convention that day so I'm going to be busy anyways.

Anime Convention? Does it happen to be AAC ? 8D

Crossing over is fine by me! Hooray for a Ravenclaw as well! I tend to identify as a Slytherclaw ;) I'm a bit too mischevious to be completely Ravenclaw.

Welcome to NH!

Heehee. I'm identifying more and more as Slytherclaw too. ;) but I made the username when I didn't consider myself at all Slytherin, so...
