Okay, so wraithfound (Hope) says she ML of monument and said she applied for us to have our own forum, but not sure what happened there, so, yeah, we're kind of stuck with Colorado SPrings. But anyway, LP's NaNo group is ACTUALLY being sponsored by an ENGLISH teacher this year. Meetings are after school on thursdays, and if you can't come, let me or RIku know, so we're both the president this year. (Yes, you do have co-presidents. Fear us. MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, it's really more like fear the senior, since I'm a senior, but, whatever, you should also probably fear RIku too....)

The next time you say I'm not frightening, I will PERSONALLY use the skills I've learned from playing Sephiroth in Dissidia too much to kill Sora(yes, KH) in some violent, painful, and world-destuction-y way.

Holy Chocobo Drowning in Shoopuf Ale!!!!!
first, it is sad how few people will actually get anything I just said after the word Holy....
Secondly, our personal, 'official' kick off meeting is NEXT THURSDAY!!!!! That's right, the.... what, 28th...? Screw dates! *grumbles about dates...* Anywho, we'll be meeting after school in Mrs. Fergusen's room-- if you don't know what that is, find Kris... or follow me there after fifth/lunch. I'll be waiting with candies and maybe a little something extra in hand...
Now, stop being afraid of what that might be, and get your writing hands ready-- else you'll be stunned when it is over almost as soon as it begins...

Oh my. It's happy to see it's beginning again, but...it's beginning again. Shocks and pleases me every year.
I do have a question. Why do you want little old Monument, with such a tiny population, to be it's own forum? Why is being part of the Colorado Springs area so negative, at least in how I interpreted your words. So many small towns like Palmer Lake and Monument feed into the CS community, and it's worked out quite well for this region.

Simply because we could, if we had an official ML (Sorry Hope, but you're not exactly official......), and yeah..., that's pretty much the only reason, and it wouldn't just be monument, it would be the entire monument area, since monument is kind of small....

Ah, if you think so. Thank you for attempting to explain. Even the Monument area, even if you reached down to the Academy and up to Larkspur, is still quite tiny. But if you think it would be a good idea. I would probably remain with the CS group simply because such reliable and awesome people are there, and do quite the amazing write-ins.
Thank you. It's nice to see anyway that the club we started so long ago is still going, and being supported. Writing and creative thinking should always be supported.

Even Though I'm about to die of exaustion, yes I know it's mispelled, I feel a need to defend the Monument region, mostly because of my cursed need to argue over stupid things. *though we're not argueing, but you get the point*
I wanted Monumennt/Larkspur whatever to be a region becuase we have the two big high schools now and it sort of feels like we're intruding on Colorado Springs since most of us don't actually go to there write- ins, most are too far away (or if you're like me in boonie land, they are all to far away) and high school parents aren't going to drive fourty minutes into the springs to go to the power write ins, but it would be more likely for them to drive a five minute trip. Plus, we've been doing our own little thing up here for a while. (There's lot of regions much smaller then us too, so I don't see why size matters)
And it's not thatwe don't like the people, there are awesome, I've met them, this isn't personal.
Anyway, we didn't get it, doesn't matter. Move on with life.
I'm going to bed......
P.S. I where my Unofficial ML badge proudly and if any one has a problem with it then they are welcome to try and plan all the Monument events themselves, it's not easy people! I'm doing my best!

Yeah, Hope, my mom and I were joking when I was going to your house for your graduation party (*sniffs* Miss you!!!!) that you live in Kansas. But, yeah, I don't know, I think, the best way to go would be to see if we could get a sub board in colorado springs for the monomunet region, that way we wouldn't feel like we're intruding, but if we did end up being a bit too small, we'd still be a part of it.

Betsunii, Wraith. You make your point. Sleep more and feel less infringed upon? It's not something stupid and you're not arguing, no worries. It's good that you want to make your point be understood.
I see your major point of logistics, though I think any Springs folk would argue that you're not intruding. I take it more people have actually joined the NaNo club at school? Back when Skye and I got the ball rolling, seven people was the maximum amount of members for three years, and people didn't even come all the time. It was...unfortunate. If the club has grown, I'm happy. There's never been more then fifty Monument-dwellers (school kids, adults, ect.), and so many less active in write-ins or the forums. If you've gotten the crowd to grow and really pushed around the schools for people to do something amazing, power to you.
Though after living here since elementary school and not wanting the town to grow any more, I hope you get enough participants eventually to be able to put Monument on the map and get that official position you seem to cherish.
----------...As for Monument events, I wouldn't be comfortable going unless the room was filled with older folk. Is that going to be a possibility? How many have contacted you?

I've seen/heard of a few adults around here that would be willing to join some write ins. Being in high school, it's tough to find adults who do NaNo......
Heck, it's hard to find English teachers at LP who have even heard of it! (experience over the last two years...)

That sounds good, Riku. Although, I've always found it the other way around. It's hard to find highschool and younger of students willing and interested in doing NaNo, but the vast majority of people I know who do it are 25 and up. Some of my favorites are in their later forties. Sounds like they have really rearranged English teachers, or the current have forgotten. Skye back when she started the club made a speech to the English department about it and was in active dialogue. We even had history teachers who knew about it.
----------Different world now. Gah. Educate them! They are missing out! Flyers are also helpful, and if you could get the stuff on L.P t.v, or spread the word around the band rooms and drama department. Word travels faster there. I'll see about poking a few of the quiet, non-forum going college students and adults in the area to see if they won't go to a write in or two, as mentioned in the other thread.

I'm working on flyers and an announcement, I think I might be able to get Borman (the principle) to tell the teachers about it, since he really likes me, and I'm currently buttering him up while successuflly pulling off a senior prank so I can pull of a different senior prank without getting in trouble, and yes, I am aware of the fact that that sounds very confusing, it is slightly confusing..., even to me.... I can very easily spread it around the choirs, because I'm in choir, and there's a few band people, and a few drama people in choir too..., so if the choir knows, they can spread the word to the band and drama.
[[EDIT:!!!!!! We now have two write ins, they're both during the school week (obviously), but ones before school on tuesdays in the ceramics room (Ms. Crow is sponsoring that one), and ones after school on thursdays in Ms. Ferguson's room. (That one was the 'original', last year they were before school on thursdays in the ceramics room, but this year we decided to have them after school and we actually got an English teacher to sponsor them, but as it turns out, after school doesn't work for everybody, after school apparently works for most if not all of the people Riku knows that are doing NaNo, but, I know some people that she doesn't that do it, and after school doesn't work for them, so you know can choose the one that works for you or if both of them work for you, you can go to both. And then we'll have a couple of write-ins during weekends to get everybody together in case not everybody comes to both, that way we can all get together and know everybody who is doing NaNo, unless of course it doesn't work for them or they can't come, but if that happens I figure we'll do a couple of online write-ins too.)]]
