Hey, people!
I KNOW I'm not the only Walla Wallan skulking round these here parts. I'm a Freshman at Whitman, but I'm still just crazy enough to think that maybe I can do this again. Last year was a blast. I don't know if I'll be able to attend any meetups, but I thought it would be cool to see who else is out there (any fellow Whitties?).

Heeey! I'm a fellow Walla Wallan, a sophomore at Walla Walla University :D I know of at least two more WWU students doing NaNo. I probably won't be able to attend meetups with my schedule (music major of all things), though.

Awesome! Meetups are also unlikely for me, unless I have a really good weekend (but...no car...unlikely to find my way to a convenient locale) but it's good to know I'm not the only crazy college student trying this around here. Get your WWU friends in this thread! :D I'm a history major, writing insane numbers of essays in addition to this noveling business. But, hey, there'll never be a better time!

Dang. You all are making me feel old!
Hope you'll allow someone in your club who isn't a student. I do have two kids in college though; that's got to count for something! Also in common with you all, I have an education, though I'm done with mine. I have a masters in education. I taught for 15 years and now I'm a writer. And another check mark in the "let her in" column; I write most days next to students studying down at a local coffee shop.
We had a very small group of three that met once a week during nano last year. Sometimes there were three of us and sometimes one. It didn't really matter. We just showed up anyway. Sounds like you all are pretty realistic in figuring you won't be able to meet. Realism is no fun!
If you're not from Walla Walla, welcome. If you are...well, welcome anyway!
So anyone have an idea for your novel? An outline? A teeny glimmer of a thought?
Keep in touch. ~Lavinia

I have an outline, and a fairly extensive one, as well as a world map. However, I'm freaking out because I have to write three essays during the first week of WriMo. I don't know how I'm going to pull that one off... ;)

XD I remember those! I have a waaay better lap top this year, so that's exciting. Unfortunately, I'm also about 2000 miles away, going to college. I was going to make it home for a week but that changed when I got a job. :( However, I consider myself of the Elsewhere Washington region, so I'll be here tonz this nano, because I don't know how else I'm going to survive being in college, working AND nanoing. So, any tips from you other college students in wally world would be greatly apreciated. Happy writing!

I'd say this thread is officially dead. Darn. Next year I'll have to work on advertising nanowrimo. I did connect with the Kennewick nanowrimos though,so that's good. Just thought I'd check in with WW one more time. Oh well. ~Lavinia

I check it every couple days but there are never any new replies. We're not dead! Oh, no! We're just lazy butts! ;)
I was talking to a guy in one of my classes about WriMo this week and he said he really wanted to do it, but if he did his brain would explode because of his class load. Which, while sad, is probably fair. Still, it would have been nice to have someone around doing it with me.

I'm doing 16. It's not bad at all. Right at this moment I'm sort of in the middle of an essay - the beginning, really, since I have two sentences of what's supposed to be 1200 words, but it's not due for another two weeks - and other than finishing a draft (which I plan to do by tonight) I have nothing else today but class at 2:30. Thursdays are wonderfully empty most of the time. The weather sucks today, though.
I'm going home (that is, to Pendleton, OR) on Friday and coming back Sunday, so I'll have half of my first WriMo day there with the fam. Both my mum and my little sister are participating, so that'll be a fun morning. ;)

hey, I'm in walla walla too, and I'm a sophmore too! but, uh, *cough*highschool student*cough* I have two siblings in college and ones that's already gone through college, isn't that suppsed to count for something?
I would have been on this forum earlier but I didn't know it existed until someone on nanowrimo pointed me towards it and said "s'right there you not-so-bright-child"
I've never done this before but since my house is oh so loud and distracting, I forsee (yes, I'm psychic) myself frequenting the public library and coffee perk and any bench downtown (which I swear were put there explicitly for people-watching)
I really have nothing more to say -closure-

Hello my home town! I miss you *hug*
I am currently in Cheney at EWU, so sadly if anything is planned this year in Walla Walla I won't be able to make it =(
----------Still, I might be in this forum more than the Spokane one, so there's that I guess. Good luck on your word counts everyone!

Waah! Two days in... I'm doing way better than I thought I would. Let me just say, though... enjoy the great writing spots in Walla Walla! I miss Coffee Perk the most, I think, but Poineer Park is a great place too, if it's not too cold. Coffee shops aren't that popular here in Farmington (we only have one starbucks, and it's in an albertsons), and the parks... suck. To say the least.
As for you who have 16 and 17 credits... kudos. I'm only taking 14 right now, thought it's still hard... I have a paper due tomorrow that I should probably write now though. =(
Anywho, good luck with your word counts. Week one sets up the rest of the entire month, so try not to slack too much! =D

OK..so it's not completely dead. But needs some serious recussitation (sp?) and probably some rehab after that.
Elithia- you are already past the 50,000 word mark. That's AMAZING! Congrats! I sprint and then slow to a jog and then sprint again. My goal is to be at the halfway point, by...well...halfway.
Everyone who's taking classes while doing this, you are amazing! You can do it! And if you can't...well, yeah---college is a tad more important than nanowrimo...but don't tell Chris Baty that, Okay?
Keep writing everyone! ~Lavinia
PS The Richland, Washington region has adopted me. I've been driving there on Sundays for their write-ins. Gotta get something like that started here next year. It sure helps you keep motivated! ~K

School is going too heavily for me to do any writing. It totally sucks. I might be working during Thanksgiving break, so I won't get as much done as I would like. But I'm still determined to get caught up by then.

Yay for Walla Walla! And Coffee Perk is an excellent place to write. I've only gotten as far in my word count as I have from spending so many of my evenings there, away from the distractions at home.

well the time is running down it seems. Lucky for me I have the whole week to writ but it seems that it is getting difficult to concentrate and it's not that my book is boring, it's that I'm peiceing everything together and getting ready for something big. I feel almost lost in my story. I wrote the first part of it last year so to me this a big deal cause I want to finish the whole thing and it's just gettig hard. any suggestions to help me concentrate?
