hello! welcome to NaNoWriMo! :)
I’m Angela, one of your co-MLs. I’m really excited for this year, and I know we’re going to have a great time. We have a new co-ML this year, Newsie, she’s going to be awesome. :)
We’re currently planning the Kick-off Party, and will announce the details as soon as everything’s ready. Come November we will be having write-ins several nights a week in places around the city and Jefferson County. I hope everyone can come out and hang out and write. We’ll have the official NaNo swag to hand out! :) For October we’re going to be hosting pre-NaNo write-ins as well, for anyone who wants to get together to discuss plots and make many giddy plans for the adventure ahead.
For now, we’re here! And it’s October! Just 29 days away from NaNo! yay! :) So please, introduce yourself! What are you writing? It’s totally okay if you don’t know. Part of the fun is figuring it out.
For me, I’ve participated in and won NaNo the last 5 years, and this is my 3rd year as a ML. This is the first time in a long time that I have no clue what I’m writing about. For the last 5 years I’ve written adventure novels set in my weird little world. But since I’m not sure what happens next in that world, this year I’m doing something different. I don’t know what yet, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out. “No plot? No problem!”, right? :)

Hey!
I'm Indy. This is my sixth year and hopefully sixth win. My novel's a fantasy about a young woman with the ability to make herself unnoticeable who takes refuge in a writers' haven.
I can't wait for November!

Hello, all of my Louisville pals! This is my 6th NaNo, but it will be my first official one outside of Louisville. :( I can't bear to change my region to Cincinnati just yet.
I am returning to some characters that I have written about before. I'm not entirely sure what the plot is yet, other than they have to get from Point A to Point B (there has to be more to it than that!)
Anyway, hoping to get away from the 'nati once in a while to join you for a write-in or two or more! :)

Hey ya'll! I'm Faerie, and this is my FIRST NaNoWriMo :) I'll be writing about a character of mine I roleplay online, and the setting is actually in two different eras, where the character has two different personalities.
I think it'll be fun anyway :)
Hope to see you all soon! I can't wait for my first write in.

Hello
My name is Tehlia, this is my second Nano (05) and I am excited to get started.
I have decided to let the dice fall where they may. Thought I had a story idea a few weeks ago but as of right now, nope, nothing. So I am looking forward to what ever happens come November.

I'm Elodie, and I plan on bsing my novel on November first or so. I've done NaNo twice as a YWP, and failed in 08, so I'm looking forward to trying for a win again this year.
I'm highschool-aged, so I dunno if it'll be possible for me to make it to the kickoff and write-ins and such, but here's to hoping.

Hi, I'm John (ML Angela's brother). This will be my 4th NaNo though I've only won twice. I failed last year. I had a great story setting but the plot never materialized.
This year I'll doing a Power Ranger-ish story about a group of attractive teens with esper (psychic) abilities who fight hordes of faceless minions from "elsewhere". I think I'll try to be a bit different this year and drop the idea of using chapters to break up the story. It works for Terry Pratchett so maybe it will speed things up for me. To kick things off in a really weird way I may even write the first few paragraphs on my Nintendo DSi using Google Docs.
Oh, and I have 4 cats and 1 new grandson to distract me.

Hello, I'm Daniel.
This is my 5th NaNoWriMo, though I've never completed. After taking a couple of years off I'm participating again. I'm glad to be back in Louisville and back on the bus.
This will be my first attempt at a story that could be a major motion picture. This one feels more like a Nicholas Sparks book (though I've never read one), so I really can't stick to my cliff-hanger chapters or smut fillers. This may finally be a winning combination!
I can't wait to get back in the swing of writing and hanging out with fellow wrimo's!

I'm Jessica, and it's my third year to join the big leagues that are called NaNoWriMo.
I've won my last two but I've yet to have a story idea for this year.
Still, I'll be ready to write on day one!
It's my first year as an ML... well, CO-ML to Sekitou's major ML'in skills.
Hello all.... I hope to see everyone at the Kick-Off Party.
Details coming momentarily.

I'm Katie~ This is my 4th NaNo, although the previous 3 were under a different username. And none of them won, but I don't think the two are related.
Anyway, I've lived in Louisville my whole life -- minus the 4 years of college, which is where I failed miserably at NaNo Attempts 1 and 2. Last year I was here, but never managed to make it to any of the write-ins, for various (probably bad) reasons. I'm hoping to go this year, if I'm in the country! May or may not be heading off to Japan in the next few weeks. Either way I think I should make the kick-off party, at least!
Oh, and I'm writing fantasy. About pirates. :D Planning to win this year!

Hello all.
I'm Tom and this is my third NaNo and I'm hoping to make it to the write-ins and the parties this time around as I finally don't have classes Thursdays nights! I'm hoping I don't run into problems this year like I did last time, but this is my final quarter in school and with the course load I have this time around I'm going to be hard pressed to keep to my time, but I'm going to give it the old college try and while my goal is to win this year so I can forget about not winning last year, I'll be pretty happy with at least 30,000 words.
I'm surprised that I've picked a plot line and main character this early in the game. I'm still working on a supporting cast but I have this idea that's a mixture of old Noir-esque hard boiled detective and a Werewolf for my main character and I'm going to run with that while I build the outline for the story over all.

Hi, everyone,
I'm Abby and I've won NaNoWriMo for the past five years (and also attempted in 2002 when I was in college, but failed). This'll be my first year since 2004 writing in Louisville - I grew up here but just moved back in May after a stint outside Chicago.
I swear, I wasn't even going to sign up this year because life has just been way too busy... but then tonight I got an idea that I love and now I think I have to write it. (November was going to feel very weird without Nano, anyway...)
I'll be writing a YA horror novel that's a retelling of Snow White in which Snow White is Evil (yes, capital "E" Evil).
I'd love to make it out to some write-ins and get-togethers, so I'll try my hardest to attend!
Happy writing,
~Abby

Hi I am Robert. I live in southern Indiana and this is my second NaNo. I won last year, hit the 50,000 plus word count , but never finished the novel. This year I plan on using the same characters in the same setting and hope not only to hit the 50,000 word count but finish the story as well. Life is hectic for me right now, probably for everyone else doing naNo as well, but I probably won't make any of the write ins. But I do hope to keep intouch thru these forums and hope to see some of you in the near future and possibly start a writing group.

Hello everyone! I'm Laura. I'm in the Hardin Co. area, but because I'm only about 45 minutes outside of Louisville, I feel like I could venture down for a write-in if I find the time!
This is my third year doing Nano, and I really hope that I can finally finish a novel! I haven't hit the 50k mark either year I've participated, so here's hoping I can accomplish a win this year! =) I've got this pretty awesome idea in my head about a new take on purgatory. We'll see where that goes!
We're doing some write-ins and a Nano kick off party down in Hardin Co. If anyone's going to be in the area and interested in coming, let me know and I'll get you more information!
On the subject of cats: I adore them. But I am allergic! I break out in hives, it's so terrible! We do have two strays that stay on the back patio though. I've named one Tux and one Cat (ode to Breakfast at Tiffany's) They're so cute, and watching them is indeed distracting. =p
Happy writing!

Hello,
I'm Joel and I'm one of the more anti-social NaNoWriMo participants in the area. My schedule never seems to be in agreement with anyone else's. So, to the handful of people who remember me . . . I'M BACK! HIDE YOUR VALUABLES!
I only participate every other year so this is only my 4th attempt and I did actually (barely) win the other three attempts. I was going to skip doing it this year until some friend of mine made a comment about wondering what a story would look like from the bogeyman's point of view.
Great. Now he got me thinking about it and I am going to have to write it.
Anyway, the story is about the person we tend to think of as the bogeyman who is chasing someone across dreamscapes.
No, I have not read Gaiman's Sandman and any resemblance is probably coincidental.
I'll try my best to make it to the kick off and some of the write ins. Not sure how that will play out this year. I have never been able to make it to the wrap up but I hope to break that tradition one year.

I'm Gail. I'm a life-long Louisvillian. This will be my my 4th year doing NaNo. I haven't actually won yet...maybe that'll be in the cards this year! I did finish my '06 novel in '08, and am almost finished with my '07 novel. I think I just like to run about 2 years behind. ;)
No concrete plans for this year's NaNo yet. I do know if will be either middle grade or young adult, because that's what I write. I suppose I should start brainstorming.

Hey,
My name is Chris and technically this is my third year, although I have never come close to winning. I usually do very well the first week then drop off and then get so far behind I realize that there is no use. I want this to be an accomplishment this year. I can do it, I can do it, I can do it. I am looking forward to meeting up this year, because in the past years I have not done a meet-up, maybe that is the problem. We shall see. Well I look forward to meeting many of you!
