Hi I’m Liz,
I was curious if there were others from the Annapolis Valley participating this year. I live close to Wolfville and would be interested and having some Nano inspired events like write-ins and a “yay it’s over” party.
Any other Valley writers out there?

Hi Liz
I'm Zack
This is probably a good time to mention this. I am a Volunteer at the AVR Library's C@P center.
I have the use of the C@P Center from 4:30pm until 12:00 pm on Saturdays, from October 31st till December 1st.
The C@P Center has free Wireless internet access, tables, and computers for people that do not have their own.
I am hoping to provide refreshments for the writers as well.
This is my third year doing NaNoWriMo, And I was hoping for the same thing as Liz, I am going to start posting nanowrimo "ads" around Wolfville hoping to encourage more people to write.
If anyone is interested in helping me organize this attempt please Nanomail me.
( Sorry for kinda stealing your post, Liz :P )
I can't wait to start :-)

Hey Zack,
I'm glad to see you're back for another year. You might not remember me; I organized the write-ins at Just Us last year.
I was just at the library asking if we could use the c@p space. They wondered if I was talking about the same thing you were planning. So that will work. I was going to offer to organize if people were interested. I am very willing to help you organize.

Hey Liz
(Wow I might have just missed you, I am at the lab as I right this.)
Yes I remember, That was quite fun. I am hoping to make it a little bigger this year.
And since you organized last years Write ins it would be awesome if you could help...to tell the truth I am not sure how to go about organizing this(The seat of my pants seems a nice place to start by :P)
Also I said that I have the first of December, but I actually have the first Saturday of December.

Hey guys! =]
I'm glad there's going to be more Write In's this year! Last year was fun =]
I'm not sure if I should make a new topic, but I was wondering if you guys might have any ideas on how to maybe get the word out in school/get a group together there? It would probably get more people to the Write In's too! I talked to an English teacher and was surprised he'd never heard of it.
I'm not good at this whole organizing thing =]
Anyways, hope everyone's having fun. =]

As to schools, I find getting in touch with the principal about the Young Writers' Program can generate interest. Then the principal can forward it to all English teachers. If you want a semi-official person, let me know, give me some details, and I'll send the info along.

I live a few minute away from Wolfville, I go to Acadia. I've never done NaNo before, though I have done Script Frenzy. I think it'd be awesome to get together with other writers because I think this will be a lot harder than I initially thought, and write-ins just get me working. Sounds fun.

Hey everyone! I'm in the valley, but I am near Middleton :( and I don't drive.
I do work in Kentville every other week.
I was an 'official participant' last year but only got like 50 words done do didn't even bother to track it on the site :( This year is even more crazy busy, but I do hope to do a bit better!

Hey Cprav,
it would be great to have you join us some time. If you work in Kentville could you take the bus to Wolfville? I don't know the schedule but it could work?

Just reading through this thread again (think I was confusing it with another thread :P ) and noticed this. What times? Also, does this mean this is when the meet ups are and I should put them in my calendar, or was it just an idea?
Thanks!

Mag,
Yes, when we're at the library we'll be meeting upstairs. We'll have signs up for those who have never been to the library. Also the room has computers for those who don't have a laptop and WiFi for those that do. There are tables for anyone who uses pens and paper.

Wow, I'm glad I came on and checked today, a lot more posts since I last checked the forums. There are a few that I know I can't make it to because of work, including the kick off and the TGIO Party (boo my job! I'm sure they'll be fun) but I think I can make most of them; probably all of them on the Mondays. I'll write them all down and hope to see you all later : )

Sad that you can't make it to some of them, But there were only three write ins last year. Everyone has a much better chance of coming to at least one of them this year.
'cept Cprav :(

Check out the regional calendar our Valley events have been included, yay. Thanks Jha!
I was looking at my calendar and trying to think of another day that people could get together, mostly for those who are busy on Sat and Mon. Would anyone be interested in a write-in on Sunday afternoon Nov 15 at Just Us in Wolfville? It would be about 2ish to 4ish.

As it turns out I *may* be able to make it for an hour or so on the 2nd and 16th, depending on how someone ELSE'S schedule works out. I'll let y'all know!
