Has your author given your character a difficult time? Come along to Group Therapy to discuss your issues!

-------------------

Last time in Group Therapy:
Shardie, Cerise, Amadeus and Arianne had decided to see if they could leave the therapy room by entering the kitchen and closing/opening the door.

((I believe the last time we posted everyone was back squashed in the kitchen!))

"Daisy" showed up to the group therapy room again.
"Have you gotten an actual therapist yet?" she asked.

Shardie poked his head out the door. "No! But we have a magic kitchen!"

Arianne could have sworn that this time round the kitchen had moved. she blinked a couple of times.
"Hang on are we back in the original therapy room again?" she asked.

"I think so..." Cerise said. Shardie pulled out a jelly baby and bit its head off.

"So how does that affect the universe then?"
Arianne got the impression that Amadeus wasn't best pleased by this turn of events if his silence was anything to go by.

"Nothing I didn't already know. It imples that the universe, our universe, is transient and fleeting. And yet of momentous importance. Blah di blah blah. What I'd really like to find out is whether the echoes- the way everything symbolises everything else- can be cross-universe, or if they stick to one," Cerise said as if she were talking about bus timetables. She stepped into the therapy room and looked around slowly. Shardie hung back, watching her. He glanced at Arianne and shrugged.

Leaning against the wall outside the door, Amadeus watched the room. "Just a little anti-climactic is all," he murmured lowly. "I was really looking forward to a decent cup of coffee too."

((O.o My internet is being weird. Sorry if I'm a little slow.))

Shardie held the sweets out to Amadeus. "Because the five headed monkey cat looked like a great coffee maker, huh? Cheer up. Have a jelly baby." He glanced to the side and looked a little surprised to catch a glimpse of himself in the stainless steel front of the minifridge. "God. Forgot I was male." He ruffled his hair up and then shook his head.

"Because I want to get out of here, mostly." Eyeing the bag of jellybabies, he shook his head. "I just want to try and find a way out of here. I mean, some of the guys in that circle might need to talk their problems out, but I'm fine. I'm not going to dump my problems on some poor, hapless sap who happens to sit down with me. No reason to uproot someone's life with your own fuckery." Stopping, he looked over at them. "Anyway, I vote trying to get out."

"Well I'm with you there. I'm sure you've heard enough about my fucked up life" Arianne observed the room in front of her. It didn't look that appealing "Unless you really want another cup of sludge?", a small grin tugged the corner of her mouth.

"Oh Good God no. I'd rather shove five of us into the kitchen." To hurry the whole process along, he moved to the door, back into the small space.

((Running to get lunch.))

Arianne stepped back from the door to let him through. "Are you joining us?" she asked Shardie & Cerise.

"Anything for my research," Cerise said cheerfully and stepped inside, dragging Shardie with her, ignoring his sigh.

"Hmm, well I've opened the door and Shardies opened the door. So it's someone elses turn."
Arianne stood leading back against the counter, arms folded waiting for a volunteer that wasn't her.

Cerise looked around and then sighed, opening the door. "Oh, wow," she said, staring out into the streets of what appeared to be London- in the 1940s.

((World War Two, anyone? Or a hasty closing and reopening of the door?))

"Where the hell are we?" Arianne asked. It looked completely unfamiliar to her. Something told her they weren't going to find coffee and hotdogs here.

"London," Shardie said, pointing towards the Houses of Parliament. "No Millenium Wheel, mind. No skyscrapers." He took a tentative step outside the kitchen, and, after not exploding, disappearing, dying or in any way ceasing to exist, turned round and smiled. "And far less pollution than I remember. You lot coming?"

"It doesn't look like the London I know. Maybe I should have asked 'when' instead of where" she grumbled as she followed Shardie out of the door. She almost tripped over a piece of broken brick. "Why is there so much rubble out here?"

Cerise frowned. "Big Ben's lights are out."

"Didn't that happen...during the second World War? At black outs?"

They glanced at eachother. "This," Cerise remarked, "is what happens when you let a Doctor Who fan open magic doors."

"My knowledge of British History is somewhat limited" Arianne said treading carefully. It was hard to see with no streetlamps lit and she was going to have to be very careful. "And this is 130 years ago for me. Not exactly something we learned a lot about at school." She looked up at the old parliament building. "Thats just a museum now."
She stopped alongside Shardie and Cerise. "So what now?"

"Where does your government meet?" Shardie asked, sounding a little distant. His eyes weren't on Arianne, but darting around, drinking in his surroundings.

"Do you think we should find somewhere to go?" Cerise inquired.

"In a new building, next door to the old one. Some of it is still used by government though." She shrugged. "A lot of it was damaged by flooding or something years ago." She looked around the rest of the street, equally dark and quiet.
"What's there to do in this time? Other than avoiding bombs?"

"Investigate," Cerise offered. "We're in the past! What isn't there to do?"

"Before we run off anywhere," Shardie said suddenly, "I'm going to need a minute." He retreated into the dark, ducking down behind a pile of dust and brick, and after much rustling and a few pained yelps, walked back into view, clad in a black V-neck and a short skirt. Only the black boots of her earlier, male self remained; the rest of what she had been wearing was stuffed in her bag. "Much more comfortable. Sorry. I don't usually switch in the middle of the day, but when I get nervous, I get female."

Felony stepped out onto the street, looking shocked.

"Oh s***."

"What's wrong, lovely?" Tracy asked, as she stepped through an anonymous doorway. As she took a look around her eyes went wide, and she took a swig from her bottle of beer. "....This is a little weird."

"Who are those people?" Fel said, as she started walking towards the group of characters "Hello there! Who are you?"

"Don't Fel!" Tracy warned, as she followed after her. "They could be evil aliens or something... no offence."

"Well, this is just lovely," Nolan drawled, and tried to walk out again, waving his hand to apparate away from this... London. "I don't need to be here, Tasha," he said, his voice growing softer.

Tasha squeaked.

Shardie jumped, and instantly looked absolutely mortified; "Oh God, where did you lot come from? Did you see me change?"

"Change?" Tracy asked. "Sorry. I don't know what you mean."

"I wouldn't worry too much, Mrs Time Traveller. We're pretty easy going about almost everything." Fel said. "Hey, did you come here through some weird door as well? And... where is here?"

"Here is London, sometime in the 40s," Cerise explained. "And you can call me Cerise."

"I'm Shardie," Shardie added. "And yes- through the kitchen. And I mean I changed clothes, just a minute ago, over there..."

"I followed you out of that room because my author won't let me do anything else," Nolan said scowling. "It's not as if I've got problems. Not compared to the rest of the cast."

Suddenly, he flinched, as if receiving an invisible smack upside the head.

"Fine, I'll stop breaking the fourth wall. I'm Nolan, by the by."

"Arianne", she introduced herself to the rest of the group. "Clearly they want us to do........ something."
