School/Work: I'm currently a graduate student (in Library and Information Science) at FSU, and I work as a graduate assistant in the Goldstein Library on campus.
Something Interesting About Me: I hate heights, have never seen snow, and I am actually MORE productive in November than any other month of the year!
My Novel is About: At the moment, it's looking to be well...different. It's vaguely fanfiction-y, definitely inspired from the Final Fantasy video game series, has too many characters (as is usual for me), and too little plot (also usual for me). I'm excited to see where it will take me over the course of the month!

NaNoWriMo Experience: This is my first foray in Nanowrimo and the insanity within. Like a lot of us, I have ideas, but never a decent enough outlet for said ideas. This will be my chance for it.
School/Work: I'm finishing up my last semester at TCC and am eventually going to work towards an IT Major at FSU. Workwise, I do freelance on-site computer repair and diagnostics, working for myself whatever hours I'm not in class.
Something Interesting About Me: A few years ago, I climbed Mt. Fuji and got the walking stick to prove it. I never made it to the summit in time, but came pretty damn close.
My Novel is About: A sea-faring goblyn finds himself shipwrecked on a remote island that is the legendary nesting grounds of the Firebird, a creature rumored to bring both blessings and destruction upon its captor.
Anything Else To Add?: What the hell have I gotten myself into? Whatever it is, I hope this bout of insanity will pay off in the long run. :-)

Nano Experience: Participated in 07 and 08 but have yet to win. The fact that it's November and I'm getting ready for finals doesn't help, but here I am trying it again. :D
School/Work: Almost finish at TCC, just have to finish out my math and humanities and I can move on to FSU. Going to major in Theatre and/or Creative Writing, and then maaaaaayyybeee go on to a law school. But that's a long way into the future.
Something interesting about me: I almost always find a way to include the Phoenix in my stories.
My novel is about: A fallen angel and her quest to be reinstated. I have a whole angel-verse created with all the different kinds of angels and their jobs. I'm using this story idea because I've been having a hard time with it and thought maybe if I used it for Nano then I would be able to get it started and maybe even finished! :D

NaNoWriMo Experience: Let's see... I started in 'o6, and failed miserably. Tried again in 'o7, and was a bit more successful, but didn't win. Last year, 'o8, I obliterated NaNo by winning with about eight hours left in my Sunday.
School/Work: Like so many other people here, I go to FSU. However, I am a meager little freshman. I'm currently listed as NFA, but my majors will be Physics and Editing, Writing and Media (or Creative Writing... but that spiffy new major looks pretty great). I don't work anywhere yet, but I just got here, so no rush.
Something Interesting About Me: Hoo, boy. My main mode of transportation is my skateboard. I spent three years of my life playing varsity-level girls' ice hockey. I only write with one brand of pen, no questions asked. I know, I'm strange.

NaNoWriMo Experience: I signed up two years ago but I was in school and in Marching Chiefs which took up so much time I could never keep up. This year I'm out of school and working so I'm looking forward to have the time to write.

Something Interesting About Me: Before finding out about NaNo last year, I was working on a novel and managed to write roughly 1500 words a day for three weeks straight so I feel pretty prepared for NaNo.

Anything Else To Add?: Last year's event really taught me a lot about writing a novel, more than I could have ever learned in a classroom. Since then I've gone to work on quite a few other stories I've been meaning to write for some years, including completely revising my story from last year. For anybody who's been considering writing a book themselves, I can't recommend Nanowrimo enough as a good starting point.
