Havent seen a thread for it yet, so figured I'd start one. Anybody else out there play WoW? How are you planning to budget your time this November? Any plans to get your guildies involved? Need a buddy to yell at you to get back to your novel?

I play primarily horde side on the Argent Dawn server. My main's an orc prot warrior named Kamagna, though I've got almost eleven 80s at the moment. I lead or participate in raids almost every day of the week, so I'm particularly concerned about forcing myself to stop playing and work on the novel >.< Really hoping I can get at least a couple guildies involved this year, if only to have somebody in the same boat as me ^^

Haha, I haven't a clue how I'd be managing time. I'll figure it out, set a daily word budget for myself before I can touch the computer. Something to that effect.

I roll Horde side on Skywall server. Main is Vynaire, Blood Death Knight (77 right now), and Fraevur, level 24 Frost Mage. Been playing those toons for a little over a week. >.>

Hello, Candice and Wing.

Warcraft-loving novelists founded a guild two years ago on US > Misha > Nanowrimo Procrastinator (Alliance). We're friendly, have a sweet tabard and even a couple guild bank tabs! ;)

Any and all are welcome to join, and of course, it's very active during the month of November, but at the moment, you'll have to catch us when you can if you want an invite.

I hope you'll consider creating a character and joining us on Misha for fellowship and the lulz.

Hey folks. I'm Vyxxen, lvl 80 Combat Rogue from Bloodhoof (EU) server. The problem I'll be having this year is the fact I'll be heading off to see my bf - who is also my Guild Leader - on the second of November so that'll put me behind on my writing and my raiding. Guess I'll have to leave the WoW alone for a week and try to get ahead on the NaNo... :P

Howdy all!

I figure this attempt at NaNoWriMo HAS to be more successful than my last attempt...in 2004 when WoW launched :) The novel took a backseat very quickly then!

I play alliance on Whisperwind, my main is Willowstrike, an 80 NE druid (feral/resto dual spec). I'm an altaholic, though, that's for sure.

No idea just yet what I'll write, but probably fantasy of some kind.

Cheers!

Hey guys, been playing WoW since vanilla and yet my main (Lyrala, druid on Bronzebeard) is still only 74. I get distracted by alts and other shiny things.

Pretty sure I won't be doing much in November besides world events and maybe some fishing in Dalaran.

Hey guys, glad to see this topic back up. I play on Alliance side of Bladefist, Lecanu 80 Holy Priest and Kelsomar 80 Surv/BM Hunter. Thankfully a good chunk of my guild's raiding team is taking time off in November so it looks like it will be thankfully a quiet month. I say that now but who knows. If not I have a tape recorder ready and will just have to try and keep my healing commentary to a minimum. (That in retrospect will be the hard part I think.) Just have to remember to not press the vent key down when mapping out my novel.

Namely I'm on Kyska (lvl 30 dranei pally) on Korialstrasz. I didn't have this horrible distraction last year, but odds are I'll be removing the shortcut from my desktop to avoid temptation until I'm ahead of my word goal for the day (which is a daily 2500).

Hey,

'nother Hordie here, I play on Twisting Nether... my main is an 80 Holy Priest named Ayizan. I'll probably be setting myself a word target that I have to hit every day before I play WoW. And it will be a high target as I'm aiming for publication this time :)

I might come and join that guild to play on when I'm not raiding though... I haven't done many of the noob quests on the alliance side so it would be a nice way to de-stress and commiserate with other NaNoers :) (at least we can be reasonably sure that guild chat will be coherent and mature? maybe? ;))

Anyhoo, see you around :)

Heya

Argent Dawn (EU) with two Alliance: Andzelika and Antonija with one Horde, Valdismorana. And I just know they're going to be distracting me the entire time..

I can often be found running around Terenas EU as Zinthiel, lvl 65 blood elf mage, confusing the Alliance by rescuing them (accidentally) from rampaging Murlocs.

I'm a really casual player, though, so it's not that big a deal for me to take a bit of break. I'll probably pop on occasionally for event stuff and such, but not much else.

Another wow'er here.
I'm on Cairne - Horde side, with my 80 Blood Elf Warlock (Mishaella) and a 37 Blood Elf Paladin (Allianya). I don't play that much, maybe twice a week or so, unless my guild is going on an instance run or something equally as good (like our raid on Stormwind - that was fun!). I'll probably set myself a goal to meet before I get to play or do any other fun stuff..

Hi all.

I have quite a few alts, but I mainly play on the Oceanic server 'Thaurissan', on the Horde side. My main is Gracia, a Level 80 (woo level cap!) Blood Elf Death Knight, Blood DPS and Frost Tank dual-spec. Fortunately, I'm in a casual raiding guild at the moment, so I can take a bit of a break, perhaps just do dailies during NaNo, and really get back into it after November. I simply must do the Hallows End and Harvest Festival world events this year though.

Alternatively, you might find me on Usachan, my Lv63 Frost Mage, or Shiawase, my Lv37 Retribution Paladin. I'm not posting all my alts on that server up here, though. :D

I have a 80 Horde druid, though I haven't played in more than 6 months. :\ I'd really like to make an Alliance priest, but I'm reeeally not sure that I have the time right now, unfortunately. Even without taking NaNoWriMo into account. Maybe I would if I completely stopped looking at random things on the internet.

Hi all~
Another horde here, from the RP server Farstriders (or as it's lovingly referred to by its denizens, "Failstriders.") Got 2 80s- a shadow priest (Tsululu) that I raid semi-hardcore with, and a prot pally (Tsuzan) that usually ends up just tanking Naxx when a guildie puts together an alt run.

I made a space goat on Misha server (and got her to Stormwind at like level 3 even) two years back, but for some reason never joined the NaNo guild. I should get around to that this year.

Last year, the release of Lich King pretty much stopped any NaNo activity on my part... Actually, it stopped ALL non-WoW activity in my life. My professors didn't see me from the day before release until after Thanksgiving break >.>

I'm hoping to not go through that again this year. I'd like to see a wall of text on my screen instead of my purple see-through belf butt.

Yet another horde. Also on Skywall. 80's are a shaman (Zoemi) and a mage (Zomagi). I'm also leveling my priest (75) on Silver Hand and will do a faction/server change when she hits 80. Just wanted to see the alliance side quests before I brought her over. Other than that I have enough alts that I have to delete a bank to make room for my priest. Our guild's pretty laid back and not that big (we can front 10 mans but not 25s) so there's less pressure for me in terms of WoW vs. writing.

Last year I almost didn't make it through nano with a win. I was 3 days from the end of the month with my mage at 80 and thought "Well this is dumb! I want to write, but I'm at 33k (almost all written before Wrath's release) and managed to put more into getting to 80 than getting to 50k." So I buckled down and cranked out the last 17k before midnight on the 30th. I didn't even log on to update my word count here (which made me one of the highly suspicious looking ones who report 17k in what appears to be one day). It was a win, but scraping by isn't really my style, so I was still pretty disappointed in myself.

This year WoW will be less of a distraction, but we're in the process of buying a house which we're going to partially remodel as fast as we can. Major distraction, but I figure that my body can only handle so much construction before I'll NEED a break and I can just spend that writing!

Yep, I'm a WoW lady. Primarily playing on the Moon Guard server, alliance side. Boomkin! :D

Managing time... I plan on doing most of my writing either when the servers are down on Tuesday, or when I'm at work. Or AFKing in Wintergrasp. Or whenever. I didn't have any trouble doing both NaNo and WoW last year, so I doubt there'll be a problem this year.
Of course, last year I wrote WoW fanfiction... so I could claim any WoW playing was active research.

Relatively new WoW player here, started in May or so, after being harassed by friends to play for almost two years. My main is Meronea, a level 80 troll (enhancement) shaman on Twisting Nether (think I saw another Twisting Nether person in this thread?) although lately I've been leveling Noale, a Draenei warrior, on Sentinels. (I have friends on that server, but eww, Alliance... considered transferring my main, but I couldn't bear to de-troll her. For the Horde!) My warrior's 43 or so... it's slow going as I've been too busy to play lately, and on the rare occasions I do have time, I've rediscovered my addiction to Sims 3. Whoops. =)

I play on Moon Guard too, Alliance side. I split my time between an 80 Shadow Priest, an 80 Pally, and my up-and-coming mage. I have cut down on my week-day playing time, and we tend to only raid on weekends, so I'm guessing November will be fine.

I hope.

I have a level 75 (almost 76!) Blood Elf Rogue on Thorium Brotherhood--Horde. I'm in a small guild but I do most of my questing solo. I expect avoiding WOW this November will be much easier than it was last year, since Cataclysm isn't out until next year!

I play Alliance side on Korialstrasz with a hunter and a DK, and Horde side on Cenarion Circle with a priest, a pally, a DK, and a whole bunch of low-level alts. I haven't had much time to play the last month or so, and I doubt I'll have much more before November, so giving up WoW entirely for NaNo shouldn't be too hard.

I'm on Duskwoond with an 80 Tauren fisticuffs shaman (Yarrow) and an 80 belf Holy priest (Riah). ...I am never levelling a healer again. Ever. ...ever. Just started levelling a belf DK tank (Clarimonde) and it's... I'm in love with having armor. That can actually take hits. That isn't made out of butter or tissue paper.

Thank goodness Cataclysm isn't coming out this November. XD omg, once that came out suddenly it was December and I was like "Nanowhat?? oh yeah. ...oops".

haha, I know the feeling

I'm used to playing spriest, but one day I was healing a heroic on my paladin for some guild mate's alts, one of who was the DK alt of a mage friend. He pulled aggro a few times, but since he has actual armor, he was able to survive them in order for the warrior to pick them back up. He was like "Oh man, you guys have no idea how much I love having plate armor." I look around the group-- warrior tank, the DK and a warrior and a pally on DPS, and pally healer-- and was like "Yeah, I think we have a bit of an idea" xD

Hmm... maybe from another website somewhere? The odds of us knowing each other in game are kinda low... *hrm* (Although I did discover a few months back that an old friend of mine from high school that I hadn't seen or talked to in ten years was also playing Ally side moon guard. So, strange things have happened before.)

Well, if you want to chat nano some time, my main's name is Ayenne. I'm either on her or Emrean (a 70ish mage). I often idle online if I'm around.

El oh El. Who'd have thought there'd be so many WoWers who are also NaNoWriMos?

I play a resto druid and warlock alt on Runetotem, ally side. I'm slightly concerned because I have a pretty tight raiding schedule, four nights a week, about 4 and a half hours a night. We're the best Alliance side guild, and second overall currently, so we really push progression. I'm really hoping that Icecrown doesn't come out in November because that would seriously cramp my nano writing. :(

I'm a former AD (US) player who's found a home on Sentinels (US) for the past couple of years, most Alliance-side in the Retribution of Arathor. Folks who wander the forums might recognize Judeann (80 Human mage), Roiya (6x night elf priest) or Quinlis (7x human paladin).

Oh, hey! Yet another Moon Guard lady here! *waves* Incidentially I've also done a WoW fanfic for NaNo in the past, though that was back in 2006. And I didn't actually start playing until February of 2005, so I NARROWLY missed being sucked into the pits of Azeroth the first time I NaNoed.

Anyway! You'll usually find me smashing faces Alliance-side as Raelindra, my level 80 Prot/Ret Paladin I've had since I first started playing. (She used to be Liuceijya back on Silver Hand and was the subject of the aforementioned WoW fanfic-- hell, I even got an interview on WoWInsider out of the deal, funnily enough.) I USED to be main-specced as a tank; these days I'm melee DPS because my guild's up to its eyeballs in tanks and I'm just plain better at DPS. Hooray sensory processing disorders?

I occasionally play my ONE other level 80, a Gnome Mage named Tibylt, but I've found that I'm not a huge fan of ranged DPS OR of leveling. So I have a few other characters vying for candidacy as my next 80 but it's gonna be all KINDS of forever.

Main is Alliance-side Stormrage, but I have some horde alts and alts of both on Uther and Aeries peak (and several friends that are Horde on Twisting Nether- might be time for some new alts!)

For Nano each November I cancel my WoW account; its the only way I can concentrate on writing and not playing. Have heard a rumor that one of my guildies is a wrimo, too. must find out!

It would be cool if we all picked a server and started a wrimo guild. Not much raiding in April and November, though
