Hello! Look at this, shiny new forums, shiny new NaNoWriMo month coming up, and shiny new ML!

I'm Jen, your ML extraordinaire this year. If you were at meetings last year and/or the year before, I was the one who brought cookies. Will there be cookies again this year? Read on!

But first we need to get down to some business.

I would like to hold at least one or two meetings this month before the November madness sits in. That way we can get to know each other and discuss what you want out of the November meetings. I'm only available on weekends this month, so these meetings will probably be on a Saturday. I will keep you updated.

NaNoWriMo just wouldn't be the same without the Kick-Off Party! Usually this happens on November 1st, but since the 1st happens to be on a Sunday I thought we should have it on October 31st. Then those of us who rely on the bus don't have to fight with LTC's Sunday schedules.

As for regular November meetings, I'd like to have it on a day and time that's convenient for most of you. So let me know which day and time works best for you!

For the past two years, we had our meetings at Central Library. This proved to be very convenient indeed since they had free WiFi and hookups for laptops, handy research resources, free parking (if you have a library card), and generally quiet for those of us who want to get down to writing. Plus it's conveniently central to the rest of London so most of us don't have to commute too far. But if you know of a different spot that's just as convenient, but perhaps allows for a little more noise (I do recall being told to quiet down a couple times two years ago!), then do suggest it!

Oh, and those cookies I mentioned earlier? Yes I will be baking them again for you. Because I love you. You look great today, by the way. Have you been working out?

Feel free to open new threads here in the forum, get talking with other WriMos (because we know what you're going through in November), and have fun! Also feel free to message me with questions or concerns. Or if you just want to say 'hi'. Hope to see you at the meetings once they're organized!

Cheers,

Jen

The library doesn't seem to mind the noise of conversation in the area near the coffee shop on the ground floor. I suggest we meet there rather than on the second floor. (And they have really comfy chairs.)

Wish I could be there this month. Eat some cookies for me. :)

Oo, I never thought of that! Though, I'm rarely in that area of the library. Perhaps we could hold the pre-NaNo meetings there and see how it feels. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hey guys :) Carrie here - last two years's ML, in case you've forgotten me already ...or if we've never met ;) Jen, I'm really glad to see you've stepped up as ML this year - thanks again for everything you contributed last year and previously :) I'm coming back to London this weekend for Thanksgiving so I randomly decided to check in on NaNo stuff and here I am seeing all the familiar names on the forum.

I miss London a lot... Ottawa ain't all it's cracked up to be, let me tell ya, especially if you don't speak French. Oh well... life goes on and at least I have good memories of the 3 years I did NaNo with y'all in London - I'll be rooting for everyone from here :) I haven't decided yet whether to join the group up here...we'll see. In any event, hooray for the internet and forums so I can say hi to you guys still :)

Hi Carrie! So nice to see you around again! It's going to be a bit strange without you at the meetings. But perhaps you can join us in spirit like Jess. ;)

Hope Ottawa's treating you nicely anyhow, and hope to see you pop by the good ol' London forum! Do join the Ottawa group. I'm sure you've got another novel bursting to get out in November!
