Anyone else hyper in anticipation of NaNoWriMo? I was hyper while waiting for the website to launch again. xD
So what have you been doing while waiting for NaNo to begin?
I've been revising last year's novel, which, in its unedited form, is 24 pages long.

I am planning to finish my Nano from last year. Funny how crashing laptops and Grandmothers with whom you live having open heart surgery can mess up your writing plans. Hoping for a better November this year. =) To that end, I've been going over what I've got, remembering what I wrote. A few days ago I turned on spell check. The horror!! I'll be so excited to meet Nano folks up in Bellingham this year!!

I've been working on another book, but it's fallen a little flat...Nano will be a breather for me. I think I'll snag one of my novel characters for it...I'm willing to unleash the plot bunnies.

I've been twiddling my thumbs waiting for it to begin. I'm going to think up all my plot details at the last minute so I don't accidently start writing it in my head beforehand. I'm almost done with my nano from last year. I kept promising my family and friends that they'd see it in another couple months every time they bugged me about it. None of them seem to understand that I waas writing this for myself and not for them so I'm not looking foreword to showing them my unedited prose. I have about a seen left so with any luck I should complete i before nano begins anew.

Excited, with a touch of trepidation. It's been a long time since I tried to write in any volume!

I've been trying to warm up by getting into the forums some. Been taking notes at random moments, because my story seems to be trying to write itself early. Usually when I'm trying to go to sleep. Downloaded StorYBook since it's free and was recommended in the Skrivener thread, and it seems pretty decent, so I think I'll try setting up an outline in that. I want to put some serious effort into prep work, so that the actual writing doesn't become overwhelming when combined with real life.

Loving the community on the forums, just being around so many people interested in writing and bursting with ideas is inspiring!

I've been writing an angst-ridden fantasy trilogy. I'm very frustrated with it at present, so I'm looking forward to NaNo as a sort of mental break from it to write something lighter (read: snarky). Also, I've been trying not to let school kill me. It's nasty like that.

Why hello there!

I'm excited to be able to go to write-ins! I was in Germany and I don't speak German, so I wouldn't have enjoyed them. Oh well! I can't wait for them to start!

Anyway. I've been preparing for NaNoWriMo by forgetting about it.

No, I'm not joking. It was only a few days ago that I realized that November was sneaking up on me. (Something had the number 1,667 attached to it.) So! I'm thinking fairies and I've got a basic outline for something I want to write, along with a quick blurb. Let's see where this month of literary abandon takes me....

I'm sorry. Did my sarcasm hurt your feelings? Get over it.

I acquired a laptop for my birthday this summer, so I am happily able to say I will much enjoy going to write-ins this year! Finally! This is my third year NaNoing in Bham, and I've never gone to a single write-in. So excited! NaNo has been such a positive experience for me every year, and this year I am so, so stoked!

I'm really looking forward to this year! Last year didn't go so well to say the least but I'm already plotting in my head and thinking about what I would and would not like to do for this years event. I may pick up the idea from last years attempt, but we'll see. No matter what though I am looking forward to the adventure!

I'm ready! Almost. I want an ending before Nov 1, because I crashed and burned last year without having an ending, or even several possible ones in mind. Excited though!

This year will be my first for NaNoWriMo. :) I've always wanted to to make an attempt at writing for it, but could never balance it well with school and family. I actually forgot NaNoWriMo was coming up next month until a someone pointed out to me that my birthday is next month, which made me realize: next month = November, and November = NaNoWriMo. xP

I'm not in school at the moment, so my work load has lightened up and I'm starting develope my ideas and whatnot to begin writing on the first. :]

Hey guys!
I just re-signed up for the site today, I always lose my old log-in or the account is now ties to an email that doesn't exist, haha. I'm made two years worth of attempts at NaNo but have failed both times. I hope this year will be more successful. I have no idea what I'll be writing about but, with luck, it will turn out.
I've never been to a Na-No get together so I am excited to start coming.
I guess I've been preparing by not preparing. If I start too early I run out of ideas and passion for the plot so I want to let this one come a little later and see if that helps.

Good luck everyone!

So it took my a week to register after my girlfriend mentioned it to me and told me to enter. It's been less than a week since then and I am having issues waiting until October is over <.< This will be my first NaNo as well as the longest thing I have seriously set out to write. Still haven't decided if I'm gonna be all crazy and try to type it out on my smith corona or just settle on my lappy. Here's to insanity and good luck folks.

So I don't actually live IN Bellingham, but about an hour away. Bellingham is the closest to where I am. (Whidbey Island)

Are there any meet-ups planned? How about a kick-off party?

I'm really excited to get started this year, since everyother time I've tried, I've failed in epic proportions.

I've been trying, with increasing levels of panic, to finish a draft of my current project so that I can write the sequel during NaNo. You'd think two or three resolution chapters would be easy to finish in half a month... right? But my stacks of homework say different... :/

Check out the prompts and wars forum. Someone had a challenge thread going, trying to finish off works in progress. Maybe it will provide some extra motivation :)

I'm in Ferndale btw, not strictly Bellingham.

I was planning on just trying to write outlines for a webcomic instead, and then for some reason decided about an hour before midnight I'd try this again. Been trying to do the same story for the last two years, but I just haven't found a form I liked. Now I think I've got the hang of it....
