Hey everyone!
Who is here and ready for madness? Last year was my first year and despite the pain, it was totally worth it and now I am actually prepared for round two.
So who is here this year and ready for word wars?

I'm back too, last year was insane and so much fun. This time I want to be part of the word wars.
Bring on the Nanoisms, lack of punctuation and waving bye bye to the inner editor :p

I'm here - very much a newbie, slightly concerned about what I've signed up for, but really excited and with a big fat idea which has been bouncing around for a few months now.
Wish me luck! :)

I don't think I can really call this my 'second year' as I failed miserably in 08 due to other commitments, but I'm gonna give it another shot :]

High Low fellow writers
It's my first time participating in NaNoWriMo but plan on blowing it out of the water. I have a small amount of previous writing experience so having enough time will be the only real hurdle I foresee.

Its exciting to see new and familiar faces!
Will you guys be coming to meet ups this year? They were on Sundays in weatherspoons in Derby last year, which was perfect.
Also we need to start thinking of dares.

I want to try and come to some meetups this year ^__^
Depends on job prospects (I have interview on Tuesday next!) and whether the lack of suitable ID will hinder me D: Because I fail like that XD
Never done a word war either, looking forward to trying that :)
Why isn't it November already! >.<

Nice to see some old and new faces here.
My name is Chris and I'm not sure wether I'll be taking part this year or not. Really I shouldn't; too much comics work to do, but we'll see what happens.
At the the very least I'll pop along to some of the meets to see how everyone is getting along.
Good luck everyone.

Well I recognise Becca and Chris...
Anyway, even though I don't technically live in Derbyshire anymore I think I'll keep it as my home region... though it's doubtful that I'll get to any of the meets this year :'( if you guys have play dough again and I miss it, I’ll be really sad...
I totally plan on finishing this year, even if I have to make the last 25k incoherent drivel.
Anyone know what they’re doing yet? I’m going to completely wing it this year because I’m far too lazy to plan it all out again.
Oh, and for those that don’t know, I’m Claire!

o.O People!!! There are people!!
Yay!
Firstly, to the Becca, thank you for starting this thread hun.
Secondly, to those who do not know me, I'm the ML for Derbyshire. So that means you can email me, bug me as much as you like about stuff, and I'll be organising the meets. (See the other thread I'm just about to make)
This is my fourth year MLing, 5th year participating. Can't say I'm too hopeful about reaching the 50k mark, but I'll have a go. No idea what I'm writing yet. As I'm doing an extreme cinema course this month, it'll probably be inspired by that.

Hello, everyone
This is my first year trying this but I've written short books in the past (35-45k) so I am hopeful I will get to 50k.

Don't worry, I don't do that to just anyone, that was just Firefly. :)

I think most of them are on my Facebook... I'll have a look and link them in a new thread. :)

Hi. I'm not technically in Derbyshire any more either, just over the border in Burton.
This is my third year of Nanoing, one fail and one success. Last year I finished at 11.45pm on the last day and then panicked as the site wouldn't load properly.
Would have liked to have gone to the Monday meet ups but Mondays aren't a good day for me. It's always interesting going to another writers group to see how they run things. I belong to Runaway Writers who meet in Burton but I'm the only one from that group doing Nano, I think.
I don't know why I do this. I work full time, I have kids and a husband, as I've said, as well as a season ticket for Derby so my life is already quite full.

My first year doing this... and I'm a little worried about what I'm letting myself in for.
But then the fun is in the trying.
Will see if I can make some of the meet ups ;-)

Glad you've decided to join us :) No problem with you being from Burton. And I think a few of us are questioning our sanity for doing this on top of everything else. I have kids, beginning to arrange my wedding, just started a new job, trying to find somewhere to live, doing a film course and... and... breath, relax, we'll all get through it together ;-) Any chance of making the Sunday meets?
♥
Excellent!!!

Do try to come, we have some fun things lined up for the month. You need any help or advice about reaching your target, just yell x
Great to have you back. Know where you went wrong last year?

Hello Derbyshire indeed.
Yet another first year-er here who's not quite sure what he's got himself in for. I do a fair amount of writing normally as an online roleplayer, but never taken on anything this ambitious... because I'm not this ambitious.
I just started at Uni the other month and have had a week off and thought this would be a good idea. Little did I realise at the time, however, that I'm back at the dreaded institution from the 2nd onwards. Ontop of that, I just moved house and the vast majority of items are still in boxes... somewhere. Woe is me for free-time.
Expect to see a vaguely suspicious looking character at the Derby meet-ups; I generally have sod-all to do with myself otherwise, and in the five years since I've lived here I never end up stopping in town long enough to have a good look around and discover stuff.
