Hi. I'm relatively new to NaNo. Last year was my first entry. i did make it, with 50045 words submitted via a spotty wireless connection in my hometown on the 28th. it was the last time i had internet for the month, and i'd abandoned my fiancee for a large chunk of time the previous day in order to muster up the ;ast few thousand words. i was lucky i did that, as i didn't have time to write the next day or thereafter. i'd like for this year to be a little more motivated and a little less "harrowing deadline fever." to that end, i'd like to invite you to share some success strategies.
My main strategy for this year is this: i'm posting my writing online as i write, to ensure the motivation of pretending i have an audience hanging on my every word and rooting for the finish (shameless plug: the website is osnovel.blogspot.com)
The idea behind it is this: during october, i post at least once a month an idea for the upcoming novel. the adoring thousands of fans (that are mostly pretend) will write in suggestions as i write, shaping the book. the project is entitled "open source writing," and if i get feedback, that's what it'll be: a community of writing. if not, then i'll still write, because it's satisfying seeing words on the internet that came from my own mind. you are welcome to check it out.
Charles

Cool idea. Welcome back!
----------Remember -- no matter how many or how few words bleed from your fingertips, by Nov. 30 you'll have written more of a a novel than most people write in a lifetime. Keep writing! Because darn it, it's fun!
