Glad to hear that you are going to attempt this literary insanity this year. there are Nano-its all over Northern California. You'll find them not only in Chico and redding bet everywhere in between. (Los Molinos, Red Bluff, Cottonwood and all of the surrounding areas. the Redding people have a big group and host lots of write-ins. You'll find their forum here:

there is a Redding/Shasta county thread that also includes some Glenn and Tehama people. I know that they have write ins in Red Bluff all the way to Shasta Lake City. (maybe even Weaverville.) You'll have to keep an eye out there for the when and where. Check out out here.
