Ok - I just lost this entire post by my own dumn, curious fingers, so I'm going to try it again. *slaps fingers* Behave.

Last year's Write-Ins drew a miserable crowd - I admit that even I didn't show up to one of them. But this year is going to be different! This year, we are going to WRITE IN a place and time of our choosing. That's right, last year I basically told everyone where to go and when to be there because it had worked in the years previous, but this year I'm letting you decide. Of course, it has to be a time and place that I can get to, but I would really like your feedback this year, on what is the best time/place for you to meet up with everyone and have a Write-In.

So here's your chance to tell me: What is the best time/place for you to meet?

ALSO - if you are unable to meet with us at the write-ins (we obviously won't be able to accomodate everyone at one single meeting each week) we will be having Mini-Write-Ins in each area (West Ashley, Downtown, Mt. P, North Chuck, Summerville, ect). I'll be hosting the WA Mini's, but if you cannot find anyone to take charge of the Mini in your area, feel free to set it up yourself! All you need to do is tell me when/where you will be holding it and I will put it on the calendar.

These Write-Ins may sound kind of silly - and we do get kind of silly at them - but they are a great way to meet other Wrimos in the area and whip your muse back into shape when they decide they "don't feel like writing this book anymore". Plus, you get Blue Books (TM) and Stickers! And we even have official NaNo stickers and pins this year!

I hope to see all 206 of you at the write-ins this year!

The best times for me would probably be Saturday afternoons, or Tuesday or Thursday evenings. I live out by Dorchester and Ashley Phosphate, so the B&N across from the mall on Rivers is really convenient for me. I can't wait to meet y'all!!

The best times for me would be on weekends or Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays any time after noon. I'd love to attend write-ins, because the ones I went to in Kentucky were a blast, but as a college student without a car, it's going to be difficult. I'm looking at the rest of you North Charlestonians for carpool. haha.

I would prefer if we do it on weekends so I can actually make it to one without school getting in the way. Sat. or Sun. at anytime would be good:) I've done 'em at Barnes and Nobel and that always seems to work because there is plenty of space, outlets, tables, and chairs. Plus, it's quiet and no one minds if there are a bunch of crazy novelists in the corner talking to themselves.

Times are flexible for me right now, and provided they stay that way, I'll have an extra car for dragging car-less people to write-ins.

I'm in goose creek area, but I don't mind driving a bit. It's a good way to get to know the area. While I don't know the landmarks right now, I am good about showing up at a certain time in a certain place. Possibly with food, if I'm feeling particularly generous. :)

Sunday's work for me. I work nights Tues. - Fri. and Sat. during the day. Possibly available Monday evenings.

I'm a West Ashley girl, so I'm pretty open to the where.

Fri/Sat/Sun are the only really convenient time for me, but I could maybe see about some during the week stuff.

I'm living at the Navy base (NNPTC Barracks) and could maybe arrange a write in on base, if a few of my military bretheren and sisteren are partaking of literary generation this year.

Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays are bad for me because I'm taking a full load of grad classes in addition to a full time job. Weekends are really good.

This may be a stupid question, but what are blue books?

Blue Books are something the old ML, Crystie, came up with. They have a bunch of activities in them for us to do at Write-Ins, including games that win you prizes, and things to help you defeat writer's block. We call them Blue Books because the first year the cover was blue :) This year they will either be yellow or green (or both, we have a lot of left-over yellow and green paper from my little sister's wedding).

But you can only get one if you come to an Official Event.

It looks like the Write-Ins will probably be on the weekends, since that's the time most people are free.

To flip the question the other way, is anyone available in the daytime on the weeks? The husband's busy during the day and I'm not, so I go a little crazy. I know we're in the minority, but if anyone wanted a daytime mini write in, I would be excited about it.

Any C of C students here? We could probably organize something on-campus.

AVIRTUE, I'm homeschooled and extremely flexible, so I can do things in the daytime. What area do you live in?

AVIRTUE, I'm homeschooled also, so daytime's work fine for me. Just let me know where and when, and I'll do my best to make it! :)

Awesome! I'm up in Goose Creek, but I am willing to drive. If you need rides, let me know. I like a lazy morning, so after 12 is usually when I start writing. If anyone needs a ride, let me know. Twould be happy to pick you up if I knew I was getting some writing company out of it. :)

Also in Goose Creek. :) Only thing that gets in the way of my flexible schedule is work. I'm switching jobs though from Wet Seal in Northwoods to Stride Rite in Tanger, so my schedule may be a little iffy for the next few weeks due to me trying to be professional about quitting my first job and all that blah. If you give me a week or so's notice, I can usually make sure I'm off.

Good luck everyone! I have long been an inspiring writing walking about on this earth feeling that there is a great novel in me...and in you as well! Can't wait to see how everyone does

There were two people (Susan and someone else) talking about this in the Welcome thread - you may want to start your own post with the title "Mt Pleasant" or something along those lines to get their attention :) And when you have a day/time, please let me know so I can put it on the calendar!

Yes, we were talking about it. Naturally my job has changed (yet again) -- not sure yet if I'm working the first week of Nano, though I AM clerking in our election on Tuesday the 3rd, so that day is completely out for me (I have to be at the precinct at 6 am and won't be home till after 10 pm). However, am open to hearing any suggestions about a write-in -- would still prefer evenings, though. Let me know ...

I would like to tentitively schedule a daytime write-in, around noon ish, one either Weds or Friday. Right now, I'm thinking Weds. I'm also thinking the Barnes and Noble off of Rivers, though I could certainly be convinced to switch it around. Any takers?

I am West Ashley so the weekends are going to be good for me. Saturday mid afternoon to about 8 at the latest is when I can be available. Some Sunday afternoons from 2-7 would be okay as well.

I'm in St. George, so I'd likely be up for the Summerville Mini-Write-Ins (Although the death of my laptop is going to hamper my at-write-in productivity) if they happen. Fridays and Saturdays are typically good for me as I work Nights, so I don't have to be back home till 10ish.

Heard (read) Mention of the Atlanta Bread Company, if it's the one I'm thinking (Down from the Hospital?) that would be a lovely place. Out of the way and all and easy enough for me to get to. I don't know anything past the mall, really.

Alright, the first Write-In is going to be held next Sunday (Nov 1st!) at 1pm. We might, in the interest of getting as many people as possible to a write-in, change the time or day for the next weekend, but from the sounds of things last night this was a pretty good time for most people.

The Write-In will be held at the Atlanta Bread Co on University BLVD - they have plenty of room and plenty of outlets for those of you who are bringing laptops to the Write-In, and I'll have extra Blue Books!
