Well, I wouldn't say that I am ready, but I will be giving it a shot this year. Last year I failed miserably, so we shall see. I completed the year before, so I am hoping that this year I will be able to do the same.

Can anyone really be ready for Nov? I think not. The years that I've planned I ended up doing something totatlly different and the years I don't well they went okay. I wonder how many of us there are? Which part of Shasta county are you guys in. Technically I'm in Tehema (Red Bluff)

Hi Shasta/Tehama and other north staters. I'm actually in Trinity County.

I'm giving it another shot this year. I won three years in a row and am going for number 4.

I'm going to attempt this year's mission, despite being a full-time college student. Weekend home-writes, here I come!

I won last year, and am almost finished with the sequel to last year's NaNo (there was no way I was going to wait all year to write the sequel). I'm pretty excited for this year, even if I don't finish.

Ready? Ha. SOOO not ready. At least, I have no plot. Haha.

But I'm sure I'll scrape something by in the next two weeks!

From Redding, btw.

Hi everyone :) I'm Mary and I'm from Red Bluff. This is my fourth year doing NaNo.

two years ago, we held write-ins once a week in Redding. it was great. But last year no matter how hard we tried we just couldn't seem to make any work :P I got my license this year, so I would definitely be up for any write-ins--give me a chance to drive up to Redding. :D anyone else interested in meeting maybe once a week? or even just having a TGIO party?

I'm interested in a write in. Does anyone want to do one in Redding at midnight on Nov. 1st?

I have to work the next day, else I would be all over a midnight thing on the 1st. ;) I know I'll be up midnight on Saturday getting my writing groove on, though.

If anyone's game for a meeting or something this Sunday (the 1st), maybe we can hit up Yaks or some other random coffee shop type place.

Trinity County here, doing the challenge for the fourth year straight. I do sort of wonder why I would do this to myself. ;)

I would be interested in daytime write-ins only. It's a long, cold ride over the Buckhorn on my motorcycle at night. ;)

I'm not sure if I'm ready, but I'm going to give it a shot again. I didn't enter last year. But I won in 2007. I have no idea yet what I'm even going to write about! I've got to pull something out of my hat.

How's everyone doing so far? I had no idea what I was going to write about, so I took out an old list of thirty-five unrelated words used in an old creative writing exercise and based my first 1,500 words around those words, forming a short story around them that I can expand into a novel, hopefully. I just hope I can pull this thing off and I don't come up against a total road block! I was awake at 1 a.m. hashing it over in my mind, I'm such a dunce.

I haven't been able to start yet since I have been working but I would love to do a write in. I think Yaks on Bechelli is a good place. Anyone want to meet there this Sat Nov. 7th? Let me know :)

We could always have 2 write-in times. I could attend both, with no problem. ;) Yaks on Bechelli is pretty good, though I do miss the Starbucks that we did our write-ins at for '07.

So, time-wise, anything works for me. Maybe Saturdays at noon, Sundays at 5pm or something? (yes, just pulling those times out of thin air) :P

Does anyone want to meet at the Author's Fair at the Mt. Shasta mall Saturday? It's a great way to support local authors. Here's more info. http://anewscafe.com/2009/11/02/authors-fair-comes-to-mall/

I'd like to do a meet up. Right now my schedule is pretty open again.

I haven't started yet. I just can't seem to connect my fingers to the keys in a coherent way.

I miss Starbucks from 07 too. That was perfect!!!!!!!

Yeah the Starbucks we used to go to was great and I remember it had good access to outlets too.

Hi, Danielle,
I can't make Sunday night, but I'll be at YAKS Saturday afternoon. I'm six feet tall and my mac is polka dotted with a sticker that says 'I am a writer.' My name is Alicia. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Hey Dawn! I didn't know there was a Shasta County group! Duh...don't know why I didn't check!
So I'm on day...4 I guess, and a bit over 11K. I usually write a bit more than this daily, but slow and steady seems to be winning out.

I'm new to NaNo, and having a super time with it! Hopefully I'll stick to it the entire month.
