I didn't want to be the first to start this thread, but I got tired of waiting for someone else to start it first. :)
I have attempted this before, but have never won. Hopefully this will be the year that I will.
I have an idea that I think will work, and my laptop should be back from the repair shop in time for Nov 1.
Happy writing everyone.

Darn you for beating me to it! =)
Hello my little nanos! I'm Kat the ML (Yup, that's my name, just like that... not really)
Let's get ready for another fun and exciting November! Come on out of the woodwork and introduce yourselves! I'm Kat, I've done nano for... seven years? That sounds improbable. I lost my first year, learned my lessons and have won since (one year by bending the rules a bit thanks to computer explosion.)
I am in Southington, pending a move to Middletown in the middle of this month, after which I'll be a Middletown ML for CT North. CT North is loosely defined as everything above Middletown, and we'll try and get to as many Northern-ly areas for meet ups and chats as possible.
How can you make Nanowrimo better? (Donate, of course *plug*plug*) but also by telling everyone about it! The more people coming to meet ups and write ins, the more fun we have! Let's get this word party started!

Hey NYKitty,
Hi Kat, it's Cat. How are you doing?? I'm so glad you are back as our ML.
When I saw all the "youngsters" coming out of the wood work, I almost sent the email - "hey any old people out there??" I'm sure it will be an enthusiastic group this year!!
I've done Nano 4 years and completed one - and one year came close which turned out to be a good start! So I'm excited about this year, wavering between two plots (I'm taking your advice on an outline this year Kat!). I'm also starting to stockpile the necessities - extra coffee, tea, & chocolate, printing signs that say "talk to me in December" and "here's the number for the pizza place, I'll eat anything veggie."
Can't wait to meet the group! If you move to Middletown - will we still be doing kickoff in West Hartford or will that be too long a run for you now? And didn't we do some Farmington write in's? I'm the Litchfield chick. Have laptop will travel...
So hello to everyone, hope to meet you soon!

Hey, Connecticut...ians? Connnecticites? Well, let's move on. I'm Ash and I am formerly from Ohio, but moved to CT earlier this year. I've done Nano for about four years now, won twice. i'm 20 years old, and live in Broad Brook. I usually write fantasy, but I might branch out this year; I haven't had a solid idea just yet. I know, I know, it's getting down to the wire... :(
Anyway, looking forward to writing with you fine people!

Hi I'm Karen. I used to live farther north but now I live in Groton. I think this is the region I went to once or twice last year... I'm really excited about nanowrimo! I have my plot pretty much figured out.

Hey all, I'm Bill, and I'm in Bristol. First timer on this insanity, but I love a challenge, so here's hoping. Hopefully I can make a write-in or two (unfortunately, I'm married to my job, and my wife is a biotch, making me work nights AND weekends), just so I can have some dedicated writing time. To make matters more masochistic (yay alliteration), I'm taking a week off for my annual Vegas vacation mid-month. I'll have my laptop with me to write on the plane and such, but I have the feeling I'll be having way too much fun destroying my liver (the natural and ancient enemy of us Irish) to do much that week. Still, the normal writing I do on the side yields about 3,000-6,000 words each time, so if I do the equivalent every other day, I should be set.

----------In theory, I live down in the shoreline area (clinton) but.... I live with my grandmother up in Simsbury as I go to school, so for NaNo, CT North is my home. I look forward to going word crazy with all of you, since my writing buddy kinda packed up and went to college. :/
My computer was broken, but I fixed it today, so now I'm incredibly psyched for NaNo! Now my only problem is that I need to choose between three different plot roads....

Oh, boy!
I'm Steve. I've done this twice, and "lost" twice. Third time's a charm. This year I've got a fool-proof strategy to do this thing, which involves not over-preparing.
I might have one foot in this Region and another in the Valley. Being Goshen, I kind of fit in both and neither.
So.

Greetings. I have no idea if I'm in the correct region for CT this year. I used to be shoreline, but as I have moved since last NANO, I can't drive two hours south for their write ins. I asked my fiancé this morning and he says we're in the northeastern part of the state. Truly helpful that answer was, as I didn't see a region for this. :) I see North and I see East, so hopefully I guessed correctly. :)
I'm Chrys. I live in Storrs/Mansfield while my fiancé finishes his grad classes. This year will be the first year that a job won't interfere with my writing time. I was laid off, BUT I look at it as it gives me plenty of time to do what I love, which is writing.
This is my third year doing NANO. I'm a glutton for punishment; I keep coming back for more. First year's "win" novel hasn't been touched since it was finished, as it was the biggest pile of puke that I've written. ::laugh:: I'm actually reworking last year's "win" as it has potential I think, of course I'm biased. :)
I really hope that I'm in the correct region as I found last year that going to write-ins helped SO MUCH. I didn't go any my first year and I was ready to chuck my computer out the window. My second year had me keep pushing even when my laptop died and I still went to write ins borrowing my fiancé's mother's laptop, a laptop that the space bar worked intermittently and the T key had no key cover. :) I still finished and I'm back for more.
Looking forward to this year's write-ins and meeting a new batch of writers. Anyhow Happy Writing :)

Hello, fellow Nutmeggers!
I'm Sarah and I live in South Windsor, work in Hartford. This will be my fifth NaNo. I'm hoping to win this year to break my current 2-2 win/loss tie. I love the world I built last year so much I'm using it again, but with different characters. Hopefully this is a recipe for success!

Hello. Signed up for this for the last two years, but didn't work it. Not sure which CT area to make my home region. Everything is relatively close in CT, so will probably pick the one with good vibes. Wishing everyone good luck this year!

Hello, Fellow Nutmeggers,
My name is John and I live in Tolland County. I actually live about 5 mins from the Massachusetts border which is about as North in CT as you can get.
This is my first year in NaNoWriMo, but I've been a writer for years. I'm rather looking forward to this little challenge as I'm always taking on challenges in the writing world to keep on my toes.
Looking forward to playing and pep-talking with all of you.

Welcome to everyone! An extra excited welcome to the veterans!
As far as kicking off, yes, I think we can look at kicking off on the 31st at Cosi in West Hartford barring any major objections.
As far as meetings go - you all tell me! Our usual haunts include Cosi West Hartford, Barnes and Noble and Starbucks in Manchester, Starbucks Farmington, Panera Bristol, and Starbucks/B&N/Panera/*FLATBREAD* Canton.
Any additions, I would like to hear all about them IN ANOTHER THREAD =) I'll throw that up right now, but it'll be easy to keep everything together if it's not mixed in with warm welcomes.
Also on the subject of getting this NaNo season started in style - How do you all feel about pre-nano Plot/Brainstorm meet ups? If there's interest, I would be totally thrilled to start using my mass-e-mail function!

----------I'm only 14, and I feel super young! I coerced my friend into joining as well, so I won't be alone in my youth (although I know you all are young at heart! :D). I'm soooo looking forward to write-ins and meet ups, especially at the Manchester location. I can't wait for November!

Hello everyone!
I'm Bri, and this is my second NaNo. I won last year but I haven't looked at my novel since I printed it out. It was pretty bad though so I'm not really going to stress it too much. As for this year I have finally decided on a plot it only took me what felt like forever to do so. I'll be branching out of my comfort zone a bit and adding a science fiction element which I hope I'll be able to make work (which reminds me I still need to name my MC's "ship/home). My MC is actually recycling and tweaking of a character for a roleplay game that sort of burned itself out before really getting started so it'll be fun to really work with her.
I saw another Bristolonian and I'm psyched to see that I'm not the only one. I wish you and everyone else lots of luck this year.
And I love the idea of pre-Nano plot/brainstorm sessions. I still have a few things to nail down.

Hi everyone!
I'm musicalgal123 or Kristin and this is my first year doing NaNo! HUZZAH! Though I did Script Frenzy for the first time this past April and won that. (I do believe Kat did that as well. Either that or I'm confusing people again. Shrugs. Oh well.)
Anyway, I hope to be able to make it to get togethers as I live in Burlington (It's surrounded by Bristol, Torrington, and Canton) but due to me living at school in New Haven, that may be easier said and done. But I'll definitely try because I'd love to write with you guys and get ready for the fun! :D

Hi all! I'm Paul from East Hartford. I've done Nano 3 years in a row, and never finished...fell short by just under a thousand words last year, so I'm hoping to turn things around this year!
I'm actually rewriting from scratch a novel that I wrote a draft for a few years ago, but I'm not happy with it so I'm going to keep the basic plot outline but start totally fresh.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to meetups, and chatting with everyone about their awesome projects.
Good luck to all, and here's to another exciting year of Nano-ing!

Hello,
I'm Johnny Null. Bet you never saw that coming.
My S/O and myself live in Enfield, so we're close to several of you. She's supposed to sign up today. I'll have to track her down.
I've never participated in NaNoWriMo before and I am not a writer. I just recently wrote a piece of flash-fiction that was welcomed with an impressive salvo of silence. The first thing I'd written since Junior High. But I'm going to give this a go. Here's to it not being total garbage!

Hello all! My name is Sherelle, and this is my sixth year of NaNo. I have yet to win, and while I could say sixth time is the charm, I don't even have an idea, much less a plot. I live in Windsor, so I'm fairly central to everything. This year should be interesting, since I'm so busy I don't know how I get my homework done, never mind a novel.
Good luck to all!
